Some Advice and Some Help For Me (RE:Ryan Reynolds)

I've been collecting since 2002...mostly Soap Opera Autographs but within the past year I've given that up and now I'm just collecting TV/Movie Actors/Actresses. I've found that in order to be a collector in this genre...you have to do some research...it is different from the "soap world" when the longest I'd have to wait to get a response was maybe 2 or 3 months compared to 3+ months or years for TV/Movie A&A's (Actors & Actresses)

So far I've had some amazing successes by doing my research and trying to find out exactly where our mail goes when we send it to these various agencies/firms.

BUT

Recently, I've come to a snag.

Ryan Reynolds:

I've been trying to get an autograph from Ryan Reynolds for about 2 years now and I've never received anything.
By doing my research I've found out a few things about him:

1. You have to send your own photos to him to sign (I guess he doesn't have any headshots yet)
2. There's been a lot of VV Successes from him and I've only heard of about 2 Successes via UTA (United Talent Agency) and that was back in 2004
3. His agent is known to be an ass
4. According to IMDB he isn't filming any movies right now which normally means he could catch up on his fanmail from UTA, go on vacation or do some other recreational type of thing

I'm planning on re-sending to him but I don't know if I should take a chance and send it to UTA OR wait for a new movie to start filimg? What should I do?

Also, I've found that if you really want a certain celebs autograph, sometimes it helps to know who their agent/manager actually is besides what agency/firm represents them.

For example, I recently e-mailed Dane Cook's Manager and he gave me a special fanmail address for Dane so that my letter would go straight to the woman who sits down and helps Dane with his fanmail! (If you'd like the address, please PM me)

I already sent an e-mail to Ryan's agent and it's been a few weeks now and nothing although I'm really not expecting anything.

Hey there, I dunno what's up with agents but I also find them in particular to be really rude when requesting an address. Always go for the management rather ;) I think you should try doing that, or re-writing to UTA (including a photo and postage paid return envelope), and just wait. If you have no success until the next movie starts filming, write to him V.V. Easy! Good luck this time! :razz:

I think I'm just going to wait until he starts filming The Proposal with Sandra Bullock...I've wrote to UTA like 6 times and I've received nothing I completely agree with you as far as Management being nicer than Agents go...unfortuately some celebs use their agencies for their fanmail rather than their management and in Ryan's case, I can't even find the Management Team he's with...only the Talent Agency.

So we'll see what happens...maybe I will re-send to UTA and make it ATTN to his agent since I now know who his agent is.

I've found Ryan's management company for you, but it seems that Jonathan Perry is both Ryan's manager and agent... Anyways, the address is:

I do not know if this address will make any difference because it's Jonathan Perry either way. :neutral: I agree with what Shambler said, try him again and if it fails, he's a good signer via venue!

After doing some more research I found out that yes! Perry is Ryan's Manager and there has never been any reported successes using that addy so we'll see...Although Perry could be his other agent as well just like Johnny Depp has two, Spanky Taylor and Tracey Jacobs who both send pictures BUT Ryan doesn't have PP's...so I have to pretty much figure out where he would physically go...would he go to his agent @ UTA? his manager @ Original? or his own film company?
