So.. how does this whole thing work? Successfully getting a signed autograph. Never done this before.
And I'm not really planning to become an autograph collector or anything, there's just this one autograph that I'd REALLY love to have (Amy Acker's).
And apparently there's 2 adresses in the database:
Amy Acker
Lesher Entertainment, Inc.
1134 S Cloverdale Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90019
USA
Amy Acker
c/o Pinnacle PR
8265 Sunset Blvd.
Suite 201
Los Angeles, CA 90064
USA
So guess I'll just write to both and hope for the best.
But what exactly should I include in the envelope? A picture/photo of her?.. Or do they usually provide the photos themself?
And the fact that I happen to live in Finland probably makes it a little bit more complicated to send autograph requests?
Anyway, some help would be highly appreciated, as I don't know much about this myself.
Some help and advice needed..

Re: Some help and advice needed..
Ok, I'll try to help you out as much as I can. I'm sure there's someone here who can say which address is better to use, personally I wouldn't know as I've never written to her before.
Basically what you want to do is obviously write her a letter, it can be as short or as long as you want it to be. Somewhere in the letter you're going to need to request her autograph, this is different for everyone, some people like to request an autograph right at the start of their letter, other people (like me) wait until the final paragraph of their letter to make the request.
You can send your own photo of her if you want that one to be signed, but mosts celebs have photos that they will sign and send back to you. Some people also like to send index cards to get signed.
What you need to include in your envelope is the following: You need a return envelope large enough for a photo to be returned in it (if you didn't send your own photo) I personally usually send a 9x12 envelope. Then you need to obviously include your letter, and so that it's easier for them to get back to you, and since you live outside of the United States, you need to send an IRC (a International Reply Coupon) you can get these at post offices and online. It's so that the celeb can get return postage without having to pay for it. You can send an IRC or two or if you have US stamps then you can just place the stamps on the return envelope hence sending a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope).
I hope that helps you out, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask! Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the help! Really appreciate it, you couldn't have explained it any better.
Now all I need to do is start writing that letter (which could take some time..) and of course get some IRC's.
Btw, it probably increases the chances of getting an autograph if you include your own photo? Or what are your own experiences?

Re: Some help and advice needed..
Well, some celebrities have their own phots but if you send to anyone Via Venue, it is more than likely they will not have thier own photos. I almost ALWAYS send a photo or if I don't have a photo I will always try to include an index card. GOod luck and if you have any other questions feel free to ask. Also make sure to post any collecting questions in the Collecting Help forum. {thumb2}
Re: Some help and advice needed..
Oh.. didn't even notice that there's a separate forum for that. Sorry. Feel free to move this thread (if anyone capable of doing that sees this).
Any idea where I could get a photo from btw? Sure there's some places on the internet where you can buy photos especially made for autograph signing but.. they all seem to be located in the US, which pretty much means that I'd have to pay by check (no credit card) and from what I've heard that usually takes some time and effort. Not that the autograph isn't worth the effort (would do whatever it takes to get Amy's autograph {love} ) .. just thought if there might be an easier way.

Re: Some help and advice needed..
Well when I send a photo, I usually print it out myself on photo paper. Like I go online, find a good quality picture that I want to send and then print that out. That works. Or you could save the picture on something and take it in somewhere to be printed.
