I send CD and DVD inserts.
You can usually find used ones on Amazon.com for a cheap price.
Well worth the few dollars once its autographed as it goes up in value ;)

Personally, I never send my own photos, except when it's via venue. {thumb2} I just love the photos the celebrities send out as it's usually a rare pic which you can't find online (for example I've never seen my Charlie Cox, Ben Barnes or Jean Reno pics online {up} ) and it's a nice surprise. :D

I think you don't have to send a perfect Kodak printed glossy photo to each celebrity as it firstly can cost a lot and you're not guarenteed to get it back signed or even back at all. :? Of course, if I were to send my own pics I would have love to get them all professionally printed but that's not possible for me. :lol: So, when I send my own photos via venue, I try to print it for as cheap as possible (I will never sell them anyways so it's just for personal use...) on the computer on a thick, glossy-type pape (as I did for my Paul Bettany autograph {up} ). Or, magazine photos always looks brilliant in my opinion. {thumb2}

Lastly, it's not nessassary to print 8x10 (A4) sized photos, - 8x10 is smaller than A4as Sammya, I always print nice 4x6". :D

Good luck collecting,
Lizanne
Obviously, this works for you so don't think I'm slating you by pointing these things out {thumb2}

Firstly, A cheap printed photo will fade over time and may take the signature with it. If you're looking for your autographs to last, always send a very high quality photo.

And magazine photo's are the worst things to get signed as the paper contains acid, which will make the signature gradualy disappear over a few years.

Basically, what I'm saying is if you're looking to make your autographs last, always go for quality :)

Regular paper isn't too bad. Look at autograph books, they last for ages if stored right! Just make sure they're out of the light.

i send my own pics to certain people as like its been said it it special to the sender but i also love colleting their cast cards as say with eastenders the collection all matches. i always send my own pics to people out of doctor who though as a lot of people are only in one off episodes and i dont want to get a card from another program or agency pic as i like pictures from the programm i like them in.

and i wouldnt waste my money on shop ones as most printers do great quality photos and unless you are prinintg a lot of photos it doesnt work out any cheaper taking it to a shop and they dont always look nicer i have always printed my own and they are great quality.

Also just to add to the above note always leave autos away from the sun in a covered place as one of mine was not in direct sunlight but still had sun and my whole autograph has disappeared and it was a proper cast card from corrie. i can still see the auto but if you didnt no there was one you wouldnt no.

and all magazine autos i have dont seem to dry out as my sis has had some for a few years and there still as good as they were when she got them i think a lot of the time its not what its printed on but how well stored it is.

It's true that if you store them well, they will last longer but they don't have the longevity of a high quality photo. If you're only looking to collect for a few years, then by all means sending magazine photo's is fine. If you want your collection to last and last, always send decent photo's.

we prefer sending our own photos too... (8X10 mostly)

Generally, we're not particularly fond of the agency pictures most of them send out if you just request an autograph...So we just choose a good quality (HQ mostly) picture of them..

We have an awesome photoprinter (not trying to advertise but it's the HP Photosmart D6160) and the pictures you can print with it are amazing.. it looks like it was printed with a professional photostudio :D

We do always make sure that the picture cannot be harmed during the shipping of the envelopes... (put it in a cardboard folder or something..)
