How to send things to be signed?

Unread post by soccer18 »

I have never sent out requests for autographs before but I figured I would give it a try for my dad's birthday. Is there any tips or tricks when asking for autographs? My dad use to have some autograph baseballs that got ruined in a flood so I was going to try to get some of the players that he once had to sign again. How do I go about sending a ball in the mail and how do I included return postage (do i put another envelope in the envelope?). This is all really new to me and any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I don't really know how you would get a ball in the mail, but for the return postage you can just put another envelope inside the one you are sending with your address and stamps on it. Also sorry to hear that your dad's autograph's got ruined.

Thanks, I never knew of a way to replace them until my friend told me to give this a try. I was just going to buy them of ebay but I ended up buying him a duke snider autograph that turned out to be a really bad fake. Anyone else have any advice/ tips?

Hey I got Duke's autograph TTM a year ago. IF you want to send a ball to him, first you need a baseball. I usually use a bubble mailer, two of the same size, and put his adress on one and then my address on the other. I go to the post office and have them weigh it and all get get the same amount of postage on both envelopes. Then I fold my SASE in half and put it in my "Going" envelope along with the ball and a letter and then seal it up and mail it out.

Here is the address I used for Duke Snider's:

****I Have PM (Personal Messaged) you the address for Duke, I cannot post it on here due to rules.

I Got Hank Aarons not to long ago, I sent it to Turner feild. It is most likley Ghost Signed but it wouldn't hurt to try!!

Thank you so much, I really want to replace my fathers autographs for him. I figured this would make for a priceless birthday gift since he never thought he could replace the ones lost.

Is a ghost signer the same as an autopen? All this is completely new to me. My fathers autographs were all gotten in person except a few that he bought at charity auctions so I am unaware of how you could fake autographs. The only reason I even knew the one I got on ebay was fake was because my father could tell the difference somehow.

Ghost signers are people who study a player's autograph and copy it to the point that it looks very similar to the player's real autograph. The ghost signer simply signs the cards in place of the player, and sends them back. They are usually hired by the player or work for them. But idk for sure if it is a ghost signer but I don't think Mr. Aaron would be at Turner Feild all the time sending autographs. If it was a gjost signner that signed mine, he sure can sign just like Hank, but I will hope it is authentic!! I would still try!!

If you need any more players address or anything feel free to ask me!!
