These celebs sign sec. why do these ebay people sell sec. do they know that there fake? are they scammers. some of these autographs come with a COA? here are links.

hmm, I just checked out the eBay post and I have no idea if they are real or fake. As for the COA...COA's mean nothing to me personally because ANYBODY can print out their own COA off of their computer saying the autograph is real even though it isn't. And the seller who posted Robert Deniro says he guarantees that it will be authenticated by PSA DNA...well, PSA DNA is not 100% accurate. I have read so many stories as well as know some people who sent their items to get authenticated by PSA DNA and PSA DNA ruled that it was a fake even though they personally got it signed by the celeb themselves. I've also heard/read about people sending PSA DNA autographs of people who don't even EXIST and PSA DNA ruled those autographs authentic...How can an autograph be authentic if the person does not even exist?!

So for people buying autographs on eBay...Just because the seller states that they will provide COA or that it is PSA DNA Authenticated DOES NOT mean that the autograph is 100% authentic.

By the way, the UACC no longer approves PSA DNA as an authenticator.

I've actually seen eBay sellers trying to pass off autopens as the real deal!! It's pretty disgraceful. Many say they obtained the autographs in-person, to the extent that they provide fake signing dates and venues, when an avid TTM collector can distinguish a sec. and an authentic. One thing that I am actually surprised to see is on the UACC auction website, a UACC registered dealer is selling a Johnny Depp autopen for $50. The same 8x10 that anyone can get for free by emailing his agency. It's sad when a supposed UACC registered dealer is the one passing off non-legitimate items. Buyer Beware is all I can say!!

That's why it's your own responsibility to do the research on autographs you are purchasing.

As for UACC dealers selling fakes, report them to the UACC. It will be investigated.

The only time you can really guarentee an autograph is authentic is if you stand there and watch the celebrity sign it yourself. I'm really dubious about buying autographs as it's already been said, even UACC dealers can't always be trusted!
