Can you help me identify this?

I've had this autograph for about 8-9 years and it came back in an un-marked envelope. and I've never been able to figure out who it is! And, tonight my brother took a photo for me and I'd love if anybody could help in identifying this signature! thank you. edit: I think he took the picture upside down. I hope it's still of help.

Well, I"ll state the obvious and say its some sort of sports player who wore the number 17 at one time or another.

Just Googled him & I'd say it's definitely his.
