What do you do once you've gotten an autograph TTM?

1. Open envelope
2. Scan it
3. Put it away in my auto folder and never look at it again

not to be rude but why are you even a collector?

In all fairness, after I scan most of mine in, they go to a firesafe.

That said, I can look at it anytime I want by opening up my scan folder on my computer.

A lot of times, I'll look at the envelope to try and guess who it could be just by the postmark and I'll feel of the envelope (if it's a regular letter) to see if it's cards or pictures because that narrows my field, too.

Collecting has went down for me in the past 2 years. I was a way more avid collector than probably you. Don't judge me by those 3 steps. Also, I don't see "being happy", "waiting", "guessing", or "going on the computer" as steps, otherwise this would be at least 10 steps.

just because you started more earlier than me doesnt make yu more avid. i been collecting for a while now. i didnt judge you. when you said "never look @ it again" i was like ew thats why i asked you that. and by the way others think that "guessing" is a step. so its not a step to you.

1. First I check the Stamp (German, Dutch or English)

2. Start guessing for myself who it is and open the enveloppe

3. After watching and sometimes decipher what they wrote, I go on my computer and scan the autograph

4. Place the needed info on here and on my website

5. Get my spreadsheet in Excel and write all the needed info there (Name, when send, what send, when received, what received and type of auto i.e Authentic, Sec). I have many spreadsheets, one for every subject or series.

6. This step depends on how much I have, because I always collect a few more before I start putting them away

7. Once every so many times I grab my maps (I have 2. One for my German auto's and one for the rest)

That's about it
