Hello,
I'm pretty new to this. I don't know if it will turn into a major hobby, but I can see how it could be addictive...
I sent two photos and a letter to Eva Marie Saint and received back a short letter from her and two extra photos. I didn't know if it was customary to send a thank you note to someone who has clearly gone above and beyond anything I ever thought I would get back?
I've sent several! Betty White, Jan Pearson, Robert Fyfe & Jean Ferguson! It doesn't hurt to show your appreciation if someone's exceeded your expectations! I wouldn't send thank you's to everyone. Just the people who have sent very personal replies!
Yes, I'd say send thank you letters to the most personal replies, or the people you really admire the most. I mean, it's totally up to you, but it'll cost a lot to send out a thank you to everyone!
R.I.P Jeremy Brett, The Only Sherlock Holmes I've Ever Known.
I sent a thank you card to Barbara Rush, since she personally wrote a note to me, and Joseph Culp, because he sent along 4 additional photos.
2014 Successes: Tom Baker, Patrick Stewart (vv), Peter Cullen, Robin Atkin Downes, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Trace Beaulieu, George Lowe, Joe Dante, Willem Dafoe, Jeffrey Brown, Maurice LaMarche, Alan Oppenheimer, Penn & Teller (last success 10/14/14)
Thanks for the feedback.
Yeah, I was thinking it might be nice since she took the time to send something extra. I just didn't know because I was searching around here and some people were saying not to send more mail items because it clogs up their mailboxes and may turn them off from signing...

Well, if you ask, within your thank you note/card, for MORE signed stuff, that might turn them off. If you're just telling them how much their reply meant, I don't see why that would be a bad thing.

Hi,
I think it's good to send out a thank you letter .I once sent one to drew seeley after he sent me really nice pics and he replied to my thank you card by sending me another autograph .
I did sent many in past...Usually I send a thank you note when something really touches me, maybe a letter or quick note. It's nice to show how much you appreciate it ;)
