Hi everybody,
I only want to tell you that mr. Eli Wallach has recently hired a secretary to handle his mail, though HE STILL CONTINUES TO SIGN THE AUTOGRAPHS PERSONALLY.
Here's what happened to me: since last March I've been mr. Wallach's penfriend and he always used to tell me about his forthcoming pictures, the ones he was planning to shoot and some other personal things.
Well, on September 23rd I sent him as always a letter, this time about his autobiography, and got back a letter, signe from his assistant, which said that mr. Wallach had no more time to answer my letters.
This saddened me very much, and I'm planning to write him at the beginning of November, before he receives the Honorary Oscar and for his birthday, December 7th.
Comments are always welcome, thanks!

I think to tell you that he no longer replies to letters and over time, might start sending out secratarial autographs.
I can not post pictures of my successes or failures. I do not have a scanner.

Re: SURE NEWS: ELI WALLACH has hired a secretary.
Glad I got him a couple of months ago.
In answer to the "why post this" question, if we can't comment on authenticity on the Feedback forum unless invited the board becomes useless unless there is somewhere where these things can be discussed.
It's a policy I respect but don't necessarily agree with. There is a thread on here about who is sec TTM, but it's a right shambles.
Thanks for posting, it's a real shame for collectors, but should be given a huge amount of respect for keeping on signing for such a long time.

If you read the thread closely, the op mentions that he still signs authentically, hence my question about the point of this post.HappinessStan wrote:Glad I got him a couple of months ago.

Re: SURE NEWS: ELI WALLACH has hired a secretary.
I hear what you are saying, and I've no desire to get into an argument (a debate, yes please!) but the signatures on the most recent success on the feedback forum don't look like the one I received a few weeks ago at all.
The signatures aren't even slightly shakey, the letters lean slightly differently, and the last h looks wrong, but mainly alarm bells are ringing because the signatures look (to me) as if they were written by the same hand as the dedications, which don't include the name of the film, which he has always put on as well as the name of his character.
I don't believe that even the signatures were signed by him, although I don't claim to be any sort of an expert and that is only my opinion.
More to the point, I would question whether it would be in the interest of any secretary who is hired to sign autographs on behalf of a client to admit that they were doing so, although s/he will probably get away with describing it as 'handling his mail'.
As I said above, I may be wrong about any of these things.

Re: SURE NEWS: ELI WALLACH has hired a secretary.
It was me who wrote the first post about this, so I'll be the one to explain everything:
I decided to ost that simply because a few days ago somebody had written about his doubts about mr. Wallach's signature.
If you pay attention, you'll also notice that in the last two weeks, autograph requests come back from him to those who had asked them in much less time than before: usually I had to wait about 2 weeks, now you can have everything back in more or less a week.
Mr. Wallach hired a secretary because of his getting an Honorary Oscar next November: at this time he's surely full of requests from fans all over the world, as well as from people who had sadly never heard of him before but now they want an autograph because he's getting an Oscar, and requests from newspapers and magazines for interviews.
Anyway, I repeat it:
ALL AUTOGRAPHS FROM MR. ELI WALLACH ARE REAL, HE OFTEN CHANGES THE WAY OF WRITING SOME LETTERS, BUT HE STILL SIGNS PERSONALLY. THE SECRETARY'S TASK IS ONLY THE ONE OF MAKING THINGS FASTER IN THIS PARTICULAR TIME, IN WHICH HE IS RECEIVING MANY AND MANY REQUESTS, DUE TO HIS OSCAR APPOINTMENT NEXT NOVEMBER!
I hope I've been clear enough, bye.
