But to comment on the name thing I always address letters and envelopes to the actor/wrestler or whoevers real name its there real name. These people dont endorse their paychecks with names like Undertaker or Razor Ramon neither are their bills addressed that way at home probably. I understand some people live there characters more than others in reeal life but at the end of the day it is just a role that the person plays like a actor in a movie. I do not believe that these people are at home going hey Undertaker hand me the remote control or Sting can you come over here a second.
Exactly!!! And when they get the mail I would be willing to bet any letters addressed to Hornswoggle go in the trash or "who cares I'll get it when I get to it" pile.

If I write Al Pacino I don't address it "Tony Montana". With wrestling the proper way is if IP use the stage name; as not everyone knows their real name isn't Kelly Kelly. But when sending mail it's only their eyes who see it, not like the devoted fans will ever be at the mail box and see Undertaker isn't a real person and stop watching.

I do the same thing, just seems like the way to go.

Raven has said in shoot interviews that it is ring etiquette to call fellow wrestlers by their ring names until they say otherwise. Says he still calls Sting "Sting" even though he's known him for years.
Ric Flair gets really upset too when fans call the wrestlers by there real names. He hates when fans use the term heel or babyface. The one wrestler I know for sure that doesnt care what you call him is haku. He told me in a letter its just a name to call him by any name I want even if its his real name.

Thanks for the info. it really helped.

now I just have to work on the design lol

I collect Star Wars autographs too, and do custom photo signature cards for them. here is a link to see them on my flicker account if anyone is interested...

I normally send to the person's legal name and address them as their gimmick name at the start of the letter.

The question regarding the names isn't about how you address the envelope and send it out, it's how people that create custom pictures and such go. Obviously if you're sending something out in an envelope and the postman sees 'Homicide' or 'Suicide' they're gonna look at it like you're crazy and possibly RTS it. As far as in the LOR I used to put 'first name 'ring name' last name' but I've seen more successes since I just started putting their ring name. On custom items themselves I'd rather have the stage name printed on there as well. Showing off an autograph collection with 'Signed by Steve Borden' printed on it and he signed as 'Sting' looks off, and to wrestling fans that aren't onto the fact that it's a work and often times you're dealing with stage names it's confusing. Besides, if you send something to Steve Borden and you're praising his work as 'Sting' he's not going to sign his real name to it anyways.

Also,

Today I got back Roderick Strong and Hornswoggle.

Here's a couple of the Roderick scans. He signed seven pics that I sent of him that I took when I went to see ROH in Louisville.

for me when i address the wrestlers. on the envelope i use the real legal name or any other legal name they prefer (for example when i talk to Billy Gunn, he prefers me to call him Kip even though his real name is Monty, Kip is his middle name and uses that for a lot of legal documents). when i write the letter to wrestlers i say Dear Legal first name "stage name" legal last name. that seams to cover both basis on real and stage names. Every wrestler has a different opinion. I find that a lot of the older wrestlers prefer the stage name because they come from an era where using the stage name is a sign of respect to them, younger talent doesnt really seem to care what you call them as long as your a fan. Thats just my two cents!

peace,
Nate
