Autograph Verification

I am thinking of purchasing a deceased celebrities autograph over eBay. THere are a few different ones and they are from the same person. I looked at the scans and they appear to be authentic. But I am an EXTREME Beginner. It would be very helpful if someone could give me some kind of advice on how i could use the different scans to find out if they are authentic.
