Hi, My wife and I are collecting and this website is wonderful, we have gotten a lot of sucesses. We are trying to do a couple of our favorite TV shows and would like to have the photos match. So our question is, we want to send to the cast of Firefly, we would like to send the photos of them in their firefly costumes. We want to do 5 x 7 pics, what size photo is that when you look at google images or similar websites? I get confused at like 2100 x 1500 to get a 5 x 7 photo.
Thanks

Re: Printing out pics to send
Pretty much anything over 1000x1000 is perfect for 5x7's.
any lower than that, and they will come out blurry. for my 4x6's I use 1250x850 and they look great.
Hope that helps!

Thanks so much!!! Do you use a website to get yours pics?
Also do you print yourself? We were just going to put the .jpgs on a usb and take to wal-mart and print.
Thanks again

Re: Printing out pics to send
I use Google Images for 99% of my photos and set it on 'Large images'. I also make my own custom cards as well. as for Printing them, I do the same exact thing you're doing! I take them to wal-mart!!
Their service is fantastic and the quality is good.

I've found that a rule of thumb is that you need 100 pixels for each inch. So a 500x700 pixels file whould print out at 5x7 with no problem.
1000x1000 would be big enough for an 8x10, but it might not crop right. It all depends on how the photo is laid out. In other words, you have a file that is aproximately 10 inches by 10 inches and you will have to crop off two inches from one side to make an 8x10. Practice makes perfect. I'm still practicing...
