Canadian left-hander Mike Weir leads the US Masters going into the third round TaylorMade Burner Plus Irons which gets under way shortly from the first and tenth tees.
He completed his delayed second round with a 68 to add to yesterday’s 70 to reach a six under par total and a four-stroke Golf Clubs for Sale lead over Ulster’s Darren Clarke (76).
Phil Mickelson (70) is five shots back, alongside US Amateur champ Ricky Barnes, while defending champion Tiger Woods has 11 strokes to make up on the TaylorMade Burner Plus Irons leader over the last 36 holes if he is to become the first player to win three successive Masters titles.
The World No.1 flirted with his first missed cut in six years – needing to escape from a bunker on his final hole TaylorMade Burner XD Irons this morning and sink a three foot putt. On five over par he has now made 102 successive cuts in PGA Tour events.
