Re: How long does it take for you to write a request
I chose 20+ minutes. I like to make a plan of my letter first before I start writing, the last thing I want to do is forget something then have tip-ex or crossing out all over my letter! I'm not quite sure how long it usually takes, but I usually spend the evening on one request, but that includes making a plan, writing the letter, finding a picture or 2, printing it/them, then addressing my envelope and SASE.

Thanks -Lil1- for the amazing set!
Favourite autographs: Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Paul Daley, Rashad Evans, Chris Leben and Ariel Helwani
Most wanted: Mariah Carey, Michelle Rodriguez, Shania Twain, Michael Bisping, GSP and Dixie Chicks
Re: How long does it take for you to write a request
I enjoy hand writing my letters, and as my handwriting is not brilliant, it take me a while on each request as I want make sure the recipient can read my words.
Add to that, thinking about the content of the letter as it is written so I can get it right in one go, it normally takes about 30 minutes for an average letter or longer if I have something on my mind and want to get it on paper.

Re: How long does it take for you to write a request
I voted about 15 minutes, but the truth is, it can take me anywhere from 15 minutes to hours!
I handwrite each of my requests, and depending on the person I write to, I can be really inspired and write a full page or two in a matter of 10 minutes. Other times, I want to take my time and word my request correctly, so thinking about the language I use can take a lot longer than 20 minutes.
I always try and write in the celeb's native language whenever it's possible, so sometimes checking dictionaries takes time. I'm fluent in 3, and passable in about 5 languages, so it's the ones that I'm passable in that I work harder on to get the wording correct.
I also decorate a bit on the letter - that can take 10+ minutes (I didn't include that in my time vote).
And I do not use a template!

Re: How long does it take for you to write a request
I voted 20+ minutes
I need about
- 60% of the total time for thinking, wording and rewording
- 25% for translating and
- 15% for writing and revising.
The total time always depends on whom I am writing to. For example: I started writing my letter for Claire about a year ago. When I started writing this letter for the first time (it was immediately after I had watched "Stardust") I principally rewrote everything she did or said as Yvaine in "Stardust" (because I loved every scene with her {love} ) and I was absolutely convinced that this was a perfect and unique letter as such...
What a luck that I couldn't find any address to send it to her...
After I had found my way to fanmail.biz and read some advices how to write a letter, I read my letter again and was shocked! I couldn't believe that I wrote this some weeks ago
So I started rewriting my letter again, again and again. Meanwhile I sent two (out of six) versions to her...........and I am still working on it......
Hopefully one of my letters will ever reach her sometime.....
Of course this is a special case because it's my most desired autograph! (Just to make sure that I am not crazy
)
Usually I need 1 - 3 hours per request {thumb2}

Re: How long does it take for you to write a request
I voted fifteen minutes because that's the time it actually takes me to "write" most of my letters. However, like Zanne I spend a long time thinking about what I want to say before I put pen to paper. I think about someone to write to and just get bits and bobs going around in my head through out the day until I sit and write them all down {thumb2}

It takes me about 5-10 minutes. Of course there are those letters were you just don't know what to say. Those take me about 15-20 minutes.
