Re: Celebrities who don't sign TTM...
I agree liz I wish more celebs would sign TTM as we the fans are the reasons of their success but I don't get why they can't send out at least SOMETHING. Hopefully Rob won't stop signing for his fans, or any other twilight members or others should take from his example.

Re: Celebrities who don't sign TTM...
im not one of those people that thinks that a celebrity owes me for being a fan but ofcourse when i send out a request i always want something back, but if i dont get something back im not going to stop being a fan. like others have said its a celebritys choice whether they want to sign ttm or not and if a celeb doesnt sign ttm it doesent mean that their mean to fans, take jason mewes for example i met him after a show a all around nice guy, signed my book for me said hey hows it going when he just could have got of the stage and ingorned me, but ttm he doesent sign all that much(their are some responces thou in all fairness). so their ya go
Re: Celebrities who don't sign TTM...
Just 2 days ago I was thinking about that. My favourite actor is Orlando Bloom (I've been his fan for half of my life) but at least he sends out autopen autographs.
Rob is a great example for this topic. He doesn't only sign everything for everyone, he also personalise things! He IS amazing. And I think there are many more actors who should do that. Of course they're busy, I understand that, but who will support them if we don't? Sometimes you get a feeling they do not care about their fans (and here I mean only people who totally ignore their mail). It's not fair to us, not to send something back.

Hey Liz!
You're absolutely right, it is very annoying, that there are so many great stars who don't even bother to try to do fan mail, but, it is, as you said, their choice, which is something that really drives me mad because, as you said as well, we, fans, are the ones without whom they wouldn't be so admired and famous. Rob is the most perfect example of a celebrity who loves their fans
and I think everyone should take an example by him - it would be for their own good!
But I don't agree with you, that celebrities should at least send something. As a person against all fake autographs, like PPs, APs, secs etc, I prefer receiving nothing to those.
Love,
Romana

Re: Celebrities who don't sign TTM...
Well first off, I would just like to say: if I was an A-list star and was earning £10 million per film and one day I'm sitting there reading my mail with the bills and the leaflets and everything and I suddenly think "man, it's been a while since I've had any fan mail". The next thing I would do is get hold of the agency and ask them what is going on.
I don't for one minute believe that the people who don't sign TTM only don't do that "because the agency never passes their fan letters on and they never knew". That's a load of rubbish in my opinion. And I am sure that they have the power to say to their agency "I want to see all my fanmail". They're all big boys and girls now, reading fanmail is not going to destroy their careers.
I personally think that if signing some pictures is too much to ask of the person who has their big house(s) and nice lifestyles, then it's a shame that can't be passed on to someone who is more than happy to do a small favour to for the people who put them where they are. It's not like we're asking for signed cheques or anything.
And it is amazing how big stars and smaller stars have got the balance right, which proves that no matter how big or small you are, it is possible to live your 24 hours in a day lives, and maybe donate 45 minutes of that day to your fans.

Re: Celebrities who don't sign TTM...
Thanks for all of your thought, everyone!
I immediately throw out fakes and secretarials! But at least we didn't totally waste stamps on those who sends them out, they did send us some kind of reply (although I am also very unhappy with them
). I am just so frustrated with those, especially as I mentioned in my first post, "lesser-known" actors who doesn't reply at all - not via agency and not via venue.
I mean, it's them who should be at a stage where they still enjoy their fans! But I've given up on many I am waiting on...
Thank you Romana!!
Thanks everyone!!
Liz

Yes, I also actually dislike preprints/autopens and hate secretarials!Sammya wrote:But I don't agree with you, that celebrities should at least send something. As a person against all fake autographs, like PPs, APs, secs etc, I prefer receiving nothing to those.![]()

You know, Johnny's Fan, that's exactly what I think too - I agree 100% with everything you said there! {thumb2} Very well put!Johnny's Fan wrote:Well first off, I would just like to say: if I was an A-list star and was earning £10 million per film and one day I'm sitting there reading my mail with the bills and the leaflets and everything and I suddenly think "man, it's been a while since I've had any fan mail". Hey zanne
I personally already really appreciate the stars, however big or small that do sign authentically .. and even personalize them or add personal messages etc.
Especially celebrities that the wider public are crazy about right now such as the Twilight cast or popular athletes such as Rafael Nadal and Fernando Torres {love} I really appreciate that they could take the time to personally go through their fanmail
with their busy schedules
.
For "lesser known" celebrities as you put it
who don't sign TTM or some are reluctant to sign IP, I understand they have their reasons for not doing so, but still it is a pretty big disappointment not to be able to tell them that you appreciate their work
PPs, autopen, secretarials aren't counted as a success in my book
It's nice of them to send something at least e.g. Gordon Ramsay via email etc. but I don't count them as a success. Authentics/personalized are so much nicer to look at {thumb2}

Re: Celebrities who don't sign TTM...
Thanks zanne. Glad someone agrees with me.
Truthfully, no one knows why some people don't sign. But I just won't listen to things that suggest the celebrites are being kept apart from their fanmail unbeknown to them or even against their wishes.
I just have to deal with the fact that Hugh Jackman (and others) don't sign. Whether he doesn't think about who put him where he is, or signing is just something he doesn't do. But at least these are more realistic excuses. And although it does make me angry, it's not like I am going to avoid every film they ever make. I just wish I could give them a little piece of my mind though.

Re: Celebrities who don't sign TTM...
The amount of money that these celebrities make all because of the fans that watch their tv shows and watch their movies you would think would be enough for them to dedicate a large amount of time to accepting and replying to fan mail. If it wasn't for the fans they wouldn't be anything but a bunch of people as popular as the actors and actresses that are on Broadway. The fact that most if not all of them either use an auto pen, get their secretaries to sign items or just use a stamp in almost criminal. A lot of people don't think of it like the way that they should. Like a politician that gets paid through our taxes these celebrities get paid through our hard earned cash. They are public service employees and more people need to realize that.
