Thank you letters are a great idea, especially if like me you are collecting for charity.

This always gives you the opportunity of going back to the same celeb in the future if you need them to help again! It also paves the way for them to help out other charity collectors in the future.

Even a quick email to the celeb's agent can be a nice thought . . . :P

I did, especially if the celebrity responded when I sent just a letter. Now, I am using more SASEs and haven't sent thank you notes.

EDIT: When I send the request by e-mail, I do send a thank you note since it doesn't cost anything. :?

A thank you note is a nice touch. I send them sometimes. If you are worried about getting a response to your thank you note then just omit your return address. There is an actor I send a birthday card to almost every year but I purposely omit my return address otherwise his personal assistant sends me a thank you for the birthday card.

When I first started collecting I sent thank you notes. I think it's nice to let the celebrity know that we appreciated hearing from them. And, once I even got another success because of a thank you note. Evangeline Lilly sent me this pretty Hawaiin postcard in response. It was completely unexpected but very nice.
