Does your mailman bend your SASEs?

Only once so far. It was Jared Padalecki's so I was pretty bummed out about it. A nice big crease through the middle. I don't believe my mail lady did it though, she's always nice and respectful of our mail. I think it got bend somewhere else, but it was definitely done on purpose, you don't accidentally bend a photo mailer.

Yes!! :mad: :mad: :mad: Most of the time-like 95%! I'm so mad knowing that most of my autographed photos were bent..they obviously can't understand "Please Don't Bend" or they're just ignorant and try to make you mad by doing it anyway... *sigh* postmen these days.. But it's not just one person who always delivers..there are several different postmen/women who put my mail in my mailbox so I have no idea who's the good or bad!

The real problem with this is now the USPS is charging you 33 cents if you write Do Not Bend or Fragile. I looked into the specifications on the USPS website, adn it is written that envelopes with Do Not Bend will have a extra fee, but it clearly dosen't say anything about Photo's, or Fragile, so I now tell the postal worker I refuse to pay the extra charge because in the official guidelines it only states Do Not Bend will be subject to the fee.
I'm sure they will change it, but untill then be sure to write Photo in big red letters all over it. But the real way of insuring your pictures retunr in good shape is to include cardboard with your envelope. Yes it is more expensive, but it's certainly worth the extra postage to get a perfect photograph back. If you can't afford it, ask in the letter to add cardboard, some celebs do this anyway.

Unfortunately, yes. I sent out a letter to someone (no SASE, just a LOR) and they mailed me back an autograph and didn't write PHOTO - DO NOT BEND on it. So they left a huge bend in the middle. It was only bent, luckily, it wasn't creased so the picture was..well..ruined.

I haven't had anything go bad other than that, probably because I write..PHOTO-DO NOT BEND all across the front and back of my SASE's, both of them. It takes up more room than my address and return address. But it gets the point across. (They're especially bad with bending mail here.)

We dont, pay extra postage in the UK for that, it's a person right, to have unbent mail is'ot it?

What are we surposed to do, we can start writing, "contains photos please rip in half"
Man this is just so silly, surely the celebs, who send us signed photos, a lot of times put "Do not bend themselves, on the envolopes.

I haven't gotten really any autos other than on baseball cards recently so none of mine have come back bent...but I used to get 8x10s that were bent.

My mail lady made me mad one time, I saw her coming down the road because I was outside so I walked down the driveway to meet her, and when she stuck out the mail for me to grab she said "I'm glad you're down here, this one's kind of thick and I didn't want to have to bend it." I felt like saying, "well then don't!"

yes, thats why I went face-to-face to him and told him what his actions do. OF course, the guy is just doing his job. I don't blame him. But since I live in an apartment, he puts what is proper to fit in the mail box, and all large mail he gives it to me personally. You should just ask you mailman the same, and they probably wouldn't mind. Or make one of those large boxes for mails if you live in a house. they keep 8x10 envelopes quite nicely.

of course, I make sure my SASE's always have hard-backing and "Please Do Not Bend" so they understand the material inside is a photo or sorts
