Long time wrestling fan here. I grew up in the early 80s watching WWF and yes, I was a Hulkamanicac...lol.
Anyway, the past 10 years or so I became a fan of independent wrestling and I have obtained many in person autographs at the numerous shows I have attended. I have several former ECW stars, a few WWF/WWE stars, and a few wrestlers who were young when I met them but went on to become big stars.

ECW
Ian Rotten
Axl Rotten
Jerry Lynn
Joel Gertner
Sabu
Terry Funk
Raven
Nova

WWF/WWE
Jake "The Snake" Roberts (met in the mid 1980s)
Junk Yard Dog (met in the mid 1980s)
Rey Mysterio Jr.

Met "Before they were stars"
CM Punk
Ken Anderson (Mr. Kennedey)
Samoa Joe
AJ Styles
"The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels
Colt Cabana (aka Scotty Goldman from WWE)
Rain (aka Ms. Peyton Banks from TNA)
Low-Ki (Senshi from TNA)

I remember back in 2002 I attended a show that had "Kamikaze" Ken Anderson (later became Mr. Kennedey) wrestling. During an intermission, Ken came out and just walked around the crowd of around 80-100 people and just thanked them all for coming out and supporting independent wrestling. I just thought that was a very classy thing to do. I ended up chatting with him a bit, shook his hand, and got his autograph.

Most of the wrestlers I have met have been real easy to talk to and very friendly. Jerry Lynn, Ian and Axl Rotten, Nova, and Sabu were all nice. The one exception was CM Punk. I've been watching CM Punk wrestle since January 2002....before he "made it big" in the WWE. He has always been a prick. I got his autograph on 2 different occasions and he is just not a friendly person.

Anyway, good luck to everyone!

Today's successes were Jimmy Garvin and Adrian Street. I used the addy's I got from Kamen.

Garvin - Sent 2 cards, 1 of just himself and the other of him with the Freebirds, on 9/25 and received both back signed on 10/10.

Street - sent pic and index card on 9/19 and received my pic plus one of his own back signed on 10/10. He signed both pics on the back. Pretty cool successes. I was hoping Street would sign because I have a GREAT program from the NWA Florida territory and I was hoping to get him to sign it. It's going out next week now.

Nice!

Awesome Successes!

My friend had an old PWI VHS tape about 20 years ago, with the "Exotic" one on it, It also had the Ric Flair VS. Nikita Koloff match as well. It had the music video Willie and the Hand Jive preformed by George Thorogood & The Destroyers.

Went to a local indy show tonight to get Ax and Smash on some new things (I've seen both many times before and actually just received both back in the mail recently). It's usually Bill Eadie (Ax) who recognizes me first, but this time it was Barry Darsow (Smash)! Smash asked me what address I had used (I couldn't remember) but he said his print site website has a new address that can be used...so that's kinda cool! He's a great guy. They won the promotions tag team titles, so hopefully they will be back.

As we went in, I noticed a woman in the audience...Donna Christanello! Donna is a former women's wrestler who some of you may remember from the first Survivor Series. She's a native Pittsburgher who's recently come back here to live and I had an inkling I'd see her somewhere. I have a few old items I really want her to sign, and I asked her if she always came to these shows. She said she may come to a few more and said she'd sign what I have if she did, so I'm hoping it happens. I did of course get a photo with her and had her sign an index card I had on me.

Just some fun little stories I thought I'd share.

And, on a sad note, it has been confirmed by Dave Meltzer that Lou Albano has indeed entered hospice care. Amazing that he was still signing, but maybe seeing wrestling stuff has given him time to think back on his long career, and I'm sure he's surrounded by his family.
