Re: Wrestling Collectors?
That's a sweet magazine, bro. I wrote to Von Erich on 9/25 and haven't heard anything back yet. To be honest I didn't really expect to hear back from him. Don't know why, but just seems like a ghost. As for the guys remembering you, I honestly think they do. Like Chris said it's not like they get a ton of mail or anything and wrestling is a sport where the guys are really personal with their fans. So reading the letters and being remembered probably means alot to them. That brings me to this..
Today's success -
Dick Beyer (The Intelligent Sensational Destroyer) - Sent this wrestling Legend a sase, lor, picture, index card & q&a card on 11/4 and today, 11/17, I received a copy of my picture (as he kept the original, which is perfectly cool with me) signed and personalized in both english and japanese, he signed my index card as Doctor X and filled out my q&a card with some great answers. He even wrote on the back of the picture telling me about his opponent in the picture. I was THRILLED with this success, as I am a huge fan of the Destroyer's career, but also because I am a huge fan of wrestling history and just to hear what a legend has to say is awesome.

I wrote to Norman Smiley at the FCW address on 9/12 and haven't heard back yet, so let me know if you hear anything. Jericho, did you use the salon address for Tito or the po box address?

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
After hearing all these RTS from Ronnie, it makes me glad that I jumped on it as soon as I did - Got mine back quickly - Odd ... Maybe he just felt like "This is getting crazy" ... lol - Oh well... Now, if only Flair would return ... *sigh* ---- hahaha!~

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
Working at a gas station? Seriously?
Some of you guys amaze me.
What makes you think these guys OWE you anything?
Seriously, how much Ronnie Garvin merchandise did you buy back in the day?
Maybe, he just doesn't feel like signing. Doesn't he or any other person HAVE THAT RIGHT?

I agree with rupy017's points. While it is nice when they sign, they don't have too, and they are not somehow bad people if they don't.
In the past 2 weeks I've got Mickie James, Dusty Rhodes, and Natalya Neidhart all TTM.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
Dusty is SOOOOOO good about TTM .. I have gotten lucky twice with him - Got pretty much everything I wanted signed by him - Nice pics and 2 awesome magazines.
We all get frustrated when we get RTS or no replies --- It is natural for us as we all take this seriuosly and really enjoy it ... So, with that said, I see both sides to the arguement ... Not really sure why Ronnie hasn't mailed back, as like I said, he was quick and nice with me... Can I ask, did any of you who got RTS from him, send along a letter???? If so, what did u say in it, etc .... I am curious.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
Rupy you really seem to think these wrestlers are above anyone else. It's not being "owed". It's the fact someone takes the time to write a nice letter, ship the envelope and simply requests the person sign one item. If they don't that is certainly their right. The point is they certainly can do it. It takes no more than 20 seconds to sign and seal the envelope; when it takes well over 20 minutes to write, package, and ship to them.
Nobody is obligated to sign, but in the case of a guy who gets little to no fanmail and hasn't been part of the entertainment/wrestling world for decades, they really could sign. Or give a reason for not doing so; price list, not interested in that part of my career, ect.
It's better if he just never replies, than open it to look for money, then seal it and RTS.
If Robert Pattinson can sign I certainly think Ronnie Garvin has the time and ability.
* When I write to someone I write a sincere, decent length letter. It's not some form note or just a "Please sign this. Thanks!" IMO if they see that it's not some request looking to sell the stuff they should sign. Especially when it's someone who is long out of the spotlight, yet the person writing has a current interest and still remembers many points of their career.
