Please read the first page for more information, but here:

"Stamps & Envelope Info
SASE suggestions:
For One playbill, usually TWO STAMPS will do.
For Two playbills, 3-4 stamps (atleast $1 postage, but don't send a $1 bill)

Minimal size envelope: 6x9; will fit ONE perfectly. Also, a 9x12 works fine (and is what I usually send for 1 or 2)."

I have gotten a Wicked success without a SASE my first time, but not since, and many people have not been as lucky.

You address it to the STAGE MANAGER of 'WICKED' or whichever show...

Good luck.

I am currently waiting for a reply from Uncle Vanya - Classic Stage Company.

Today I sent out to Will Ferrell (Thank You America), Guys and Dolls, Phantom of the Opera, Avenue Q, August: Osage County and Chicago.

I plan on send to Mary Louise-Parker (Hedda Gabler) for a signed Playbill. What is the best way of going about doing this? It's at American Airlines Theatre.

I also Want to send for a Complicit Playbill. It's at The Old Vic in London. Does this theatre send out programs?
Kyle :)

I'm planning to write to Mary-Louise Parker through herself. Roundabout almost never sends out Cast-Signed playbills, but you could try. The only success I've ever seen form them personally was for Les Liaisons Dangerouses last May, which actually played at the American Airlines (I've yet to see a response from their other theatre: STudio 54). Just request a playbill in your letter -- worst she'll do is send a headshot!

LONDON does not do playbills. Show programmes cost money, and hardly nothing is ever cast-signed. Mostly people write to the stars directly and received a signed flier or/and headshot, among other things. You can attempt to send money to the star and request they sign one (if they're very famous or you think they wouldn't have trouble getting one: ie: I wrote to Jill Paice, an American, who starred in the West End production of Gone with the Wind the Musical and sent USD$ and she was able to get me one, and I've also sent to Ruthie Henshall USD$ and she was able to get me one; they were signed solely by them and I think I sent about $6.) Stage managers do not handle fanmail to my experience (GWTW, Phantom (West End), Les Miserables,...) and I have wasted money on it. You can try, but I have never received a success out of 5 times for a programme, signed programme,..nothing and I've sent money each time. Otherwise, if it's just the programme you're after, most shows sell them on their website worldwide.

I know sometimes they will do autograph signings so my question is this only in NY? I plan on seeing Wicked in SF so I was just wondering if they will have playbills or autograph signings or is that just for NY

Also when you send your requests I know your SASE should have two stamps (I use the forever ones) but what about the envelope you included with your SASE should that have two stamps or is one good enough? I just don't want stuff returned to me for not having enough postage

i wrote to
Wicked, Shrek-The-Musical that got sent out
Guys and Dolls, Phantom Of The Opera and I plan on writing a couple other shows that I really liked and am planning on seeing when I take a trip to NYC this summer.

I think you'll be the first to write to Wicked - San Fransisco...but certainly give it a try. National Tours generally don't carry around playbills, but considering that they're hoping Wicked will take off there (& as of now it's a permanent production), they very may do this practice.

If you fold up your 6x9 or 9x12 into a regular legal/tri-fold envelope, then yes, one stamp is fine (or a 6x9). Anything over a 6x9 envelope automatically needs an extra stamp.

Hopefully this helped. Make sure you post back your feedback if even on here about Wicked -SF!

I sent Mary-Louise an SASE and included a playbill from Hedda Gabler, so she wouldn't have to worry to get one. I sent it Priority with tracking, and its there in New York. Hopefully it gets passed on to her. If I hear anything, I'll post it.

Please do! I've also written to Ms. Parker, who many don't think will answer, or atleast not until the run is over. Good luck!
