I think rep points should be gotten rid off.
Ive noticed theres alot of people on the site who think they are great and know more about autographs just because theyve got a few more rep points than other people. These are the same people who cry and moan about it whenever they get given a negative rep point.....of course im not mentioning names but I guess ya all know who I mean...

i'm not sure of anyone abusing the rep system but i can see how it would/is causing problems..i don't understand the point of it anyway?

The point of the rep system is to make kids happy so they think they are better than and know more about the hobby of collecting autographs than other people.
Myself...I tend not the bother with it. Why should I care if some doofus leave me a negative rep point.
I just think they should get rid of the whole system to stop said doofuses brining the fact theyve got more rep points into everything and mentioning it each time someone disagrees with them.

I was going to add my 2 cents but Robert_Holik, Robert, Joeay and the Toad King basically has said it all. If you have noticed I have stopped adding my 2 cents in regarding authenticity. I have come to the conclusion that there is only a handful of people on here who actually care and I figure if most on here wants to play follow the leader and send and receive preprints, autopens and secretarials that makes it all the better for the collector who is collecting authentic signatures, their leaving those celebs. alone. Why do you think I don't post my successes on here? I have gone thru all the feedback posted in the feedback forum and quite honestly there is about 75 different celebrity successes that are actually authentic. You also have to realize most of who is on this site is kids 10 yrs old and up who at this time in their life they know it all and if you say anything your automatically being rude and will receive a neg.

Hi everyone

The point of the reputation system is to show who on the forum is helpful, and who tends to cause problems. It helps to see someone's opinion of someone else or even of yourself. If there is something you are doing right, you will continue to do so. If there is something you are doing wrong, you will (hopefully) learn from it and stop doing that thing.

No one on the forum is better than anyone else. We're all here to help other fellow autograph collectors with the hobby.

The above two statments completely contradict one another. If you do not care, why do you continue to argue against it?

I must admit that there a few members who abuse the reputation system, which will result in the undeserved reputation point to be deleted. Please do not leave a negative reputation point for someone out of hatred or revenge. I'm pretty sure we all understand what warrants a reputation point change of or .

Honestly, there is no need to bring this issue up again as I do not see the reputation system changing anytime soon.

You have to realize that many people on the site do not care nor did ask for anyone's opinion on the authenticity of an autograph.

Even if someone did ask for an opinion, do not just post "It's secretarial" or "It's an autopen". Please post some sort of evidence to back it up.

Also, please realize that there is the possibility you are wrong. Just because a signature looks slightly different doesn't automatically mean it's a fake.

Posting without the original poster asking for an opinion, not posting evidence, or not welcoming other ideas will most likely result in a reputation point.

Hopefully we can put this issue to rest.

What you have to realize is that there aren't that many people that abuse the point system.

And what you also need to realize, is that the people that do abuse it, are dealt with. And the unwarrented points they give are removed.

I have said this before. If a member gets a negative point, and it isn't removed, then it is warrented. Regardless of how that member may feel about it.

I am, in my opinion, quite tired of people bringing stuff like this up. The main point is, that if you don't like the reputation point system, then ignore it and don't use it.

What I don't understand is all the members that say they don't care about the reputation point system are the first ones to complain about it.
