Even before I started making my custom cards. I was matting plain cards. One of the first mattes I worked on was "The Pretender". I eventually redid the matte with my cards and added a new sig or two. But, one has always eluded me....Paul Dillon. I have written to his agent a few times over the years with no luck. The one success I saw someone get was when he did a play in LA a year ago. But, I found out about it a few months after the show ended. So I was thrilled to see him appearing in another play last month. I wrote to him and another cast member right before the show opened. Got the other cast member back within a week or two. But, no Dillon. I waited again with no luck. I was pretty bummed. Then I came upon an auction from a UACC registered dealer and he had a signed card by Paul Dillon. I made sure to win it. I wasn't letting it get away. Well I got it and finally was able to finish the matte.

I loved the pretender awesome show wish we could have seen how it ended. way jealous of that matte

Just re-found this thread and it too inspired me to try to make my own mats
Ive started with a small one for The King's Speech film and a bigger one for my Harry Potter cards, which Ive recently started sending out

Brookton: I am also slowly collecting a larger one for "True Blood." So, I am currently working on two; however, the 6 card piece will be much quicker ;) I wish there was a way to see just a combination of photos of these.... I always come back here for inspiration .....Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the idea. Not as professional looking as yours but I like the idea of showcasing them all together. When I get more successes I want to have them professionaly matted, but this should do for now. So here is my mat from the cast of "True Blood." Thanks for the inspiration.
