I have to disagree with you with the Legally Blonde playbill and that Shrek playbill. I have several in person and ttm successes from both shows and they do match up. The Shrek playbill is authentic.Of course the signatures will be slightly different.....they generally take their time when signing ttm, and they are rushing to sign for everyone at stage door.

I'm not argueing whether they are authentic .. but you can tell when they are signed backstage or in person. It is EXTREMELY rare for anyone to get everyone, firstly. Secondly, not EVERYONE is giong to sign in the same EXACT place EVERY time when doing it at the stagedoor. Legally Blonde for example: Orfeh signed in the same spot, as did Ven Daniel - but NO one else did.

SVG, if I'm not mistaken you're a seller - so go ahead and try to make your case. (I KNOW you sell fliers to say the least - which for the record I have no problem with) Lots of people see the show, take a picture of two performers signing at the door and sell the ones they get TTM. I have actually seen pictures of people like Patti LuPone and Leigh Ann Larkin in coats/scarves with the picture and wehn I asked the date of the playbill the answer was July.

Not say they are all cheats - but a HUGE majority of them are looking for a quick $10.

Oh, ok, I misunderstood what you were saying.... Being able to tell the difference between in person and ttm, right? I agree, you can def. tell the difference---like you said the amount of signatures on the playbill.

You are right I do sell fliers. I have so many of them, I just don't have use for most of them anymore. I just sell them for the price of shipping, but I can't find any takers.

I think that it's awful that people want to write to get playbills to turn around and sell them. If someone's doing it purposely, I think it's horrible because it's ruining the hobby for everyone else. I collect them myself because I'm a theatre major. Looking at the playbills I receive make me keep going and helps to remind me that there's something big out there waiting to be grasped.

If someone sells them because they're in dire straights, that's understandable, but those doing it simply to sell in my opinion need to stop. :(

My favourite thing is - let's be honest, if you could have an authentic cast-signed movie thing from, let's say Zoolander with Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell & Christine Taylor, or you could have a The Scarlet Pimpernel SP 1.0 Playbill signed by Terrence Mann (2-time Tony Award nominee), Christine Andreas (2-time Tony Award nominee) & Douglas Sills (Tony nominee) ... which one would you rather pick soley based off how much you could get? Even if it was version 1.0, I have never seen ANYTHING go for Pimpernel (a cult-y favourite and pretty historic/ground-breaking show production wise - not material LOL) go more than $50, and have seen Ferrell/Stiller/et al autos go for atleast $75???

I don't see how you need money that bad - I do check up on eBay frequently; I usually buy older playbills for the shows I wish I could have seen, but have yet to sell any. But that might change - I have some rare ones that are finally getting to an "extinct" point, and since I saw the show I have extras: A Tale of Two Cities are going for $8, Sunday in the Park with George is going for $15... unsigned. In fact, most collectors collect them UNSIGNED...I usually only get the signed ones if I've seen the show!

Someone asked that question .. maybe not TWO pages ago on this thread so check it out. To sum it up, the PlaybillStore.com binders are a waste of money, just buy a regular binder / ACID-FREE sleeves. Or do what I/many do: Put them in a box or shelves.
I have skimmed through the last 10 pages or so, but I must have missed that, sorry. If I could one cheap, I might get one, as I like the idea of the inserts, but it's very expensive just for those and shipping to the UK will not be cheap either.

I'm not a huge fan of people selling autographs full stop really, as someone took the time to sign things, and I think it's low to ask for them to sell them. But it's crazy how many playbills I'm seeing on eBay that I'm also seeing being received relatively recently by people on here.

There are quite a few signed ones on ebay.com that are of current shows I would be interested in, and even though it will cost me less to buy them on eBay than the stamps I'll need to buy to put on my SAE, I wouldn't buy them on principal.

The only playbills I would want from ebay are signed ones of say Patti Lupone from an old show, or just playbills of old shows. I've just found one from 1981 for the Jerry Orbach 42nd Street, so I'm definitely going to buy that.

I bought several on eBay from shows years ago ... Jekyll & HYDE and The Scarlet Pimpernel Opening Nights, for instance..! No problems there.

Agreed: I usually only buy autos when they're signed by someone like Christine Ebersole in Grey Gardens because I barely missed seeing that one!

I received a playbill from Studio 54's Waiting for Godot. I have read that they are hard to obtain so I thought I'd post it in this thread. If you'd like to see my post in the via venue part, click here.

I also keep an updated list of the playbills I received on the first page of this thread. :)

Yes, ebay seems to be great for picking up older playbills. The variety from ebay.com is brilliant. I am toying with buying a signed Robert Preston playbill. I know it's not from the Music Man but he is the Music Man anyway.

Hey - Thakns for posting this! Perhaps it is to be assumed when the cast is as small as four / a PLAY that maybe they will sign. Never have I seen a MUSICAL sign from Studio 54, so if it's a play - people, try + gve it a go.
