Anyone ever go to the hotels

Hey I was just wondering if anyone ever goes to the hotels people are staying at like bands or sports teams to try and obtain autographs, any info would be great I am new at this kind of.

Yeah, I do, it's a great way to get autographs. This Sunday I'll be going off to one to try and obtain Robert Mugabe's.

May I please ask that no-one post the names of hotels?!

whenever I travel, I stay at the hotels of the bands I'm seeing. I love it!

How do you know which hotel they stay at? I am looking more for visiting nba teams that come to chicago

I phone the 'poshest' hotels in my city, and ask the receptionist to put me through to Mr/Ms/Mrs (celeb's surname). If they say the person is/isn't checked in there, you've got your answer.

they rarely check in with their own names, so that method will never work. it's typically the event organizer or whatever that will book the rooms so the celebrity can't be stalked

Will never work? Works perfectly for me here in Johannesburg, when international celebs come over. It sometimes depends on the location, but not every celebrity checks in with an alias.

I am not sure but I am new here but isnt this sight to try and help people obtain autographs, so why wouldnt people post the hotels if they know? I am just curious sorry, I do most of my collecting waiting after shows and games!

No worries. The problem with posting hotel names comes down to privacy issues. Because that hotel becomes the celebrity's place of residence for a certain period of time, it would be the same as posting their home address for all to see. The hotel's also don't appreciate a crowd of autograph seekers outside their doors the whole time - it reflects badly on their business. Then you have the 'kooks' who may not want an autograph or photo, and have other ideas in mind - certain people who have unhealthy intentions may browse these forums.
