Can anyone help (rubbing/losing of autograph)?

I have a photo (printed from the internet) and it is signed in silver. I happened to glance my hand across it and part of it came off and the rest looks as if it will come off aswell even with minimal amount of contact (currently it is in a poly pocket and it is even rubbing against it), what can I do to preserve this autograph and stop it rubbing away? Are silver pens known to do this?

I would get it framed. But make sure the frame has the glass raised so it will not rub on the autograph

DO NOT PUT HAIRSPRAY ON IT! hairspray contains alcohol and will actually remove the marker, not real sure what it would do to the photo

I don't think it's the silver pen that causes this, but more the paper of the photo.
Definitely don't use hairspray on it.
I think your best bet is to frame it or put a small mat around it and put in a plastic folder. The mat should make sure that the plastic doesn't touch the signature.

My bad... I was thinking about covering charcole on paper with hair spray... thought the same thing might work with an autograph...

Has anyone tried a light dusting of clearcoat paint?
