Do you ever feel 'cheated' by an autograph?

How do you feel if you receive a PP or an AP signature instead of a real one?
I only ask the question because I noticed the several discussions about Orlando Bloom - and as I work with many celebrities (I’m one of the people that arranges interviews and publicity opportunities to help promote new films/plays etc) - I just wondered if not receiving a genuine signature has a noticeable affect on how you feel about the celebrity. Just curious.

I most definatly feel the celebrity is much more loyal and caring about others if they send me a real autograph. I hate it when they send me fakes. I usally think why bother if they give me a fake

I dont like autopens at all, because they are trying to trick you into thinking you have a ral autograph

I dont really care about if its a preprint. I don't change my opinion about the person if they do. What really bothers me though is when some celebrities charge you for their autograph.

I'm always a little disappointed when I tear open the envelope and find a pp or ap; but am glad that the celebrity has cared to send something out, rather than just bin the letters, or get a letter from a random person saying 'nope, they are too busy for you'!

When I get a preprint, I am usually glad the celebrity has written back and a letter can go in my collection, but I think that all celebritys should send authentic autographs because, after all, they wouldnt be anywhere without fans.

Yeah, PP's do make me annoyed with a celeb, I can't help it.

This is true...but some celebs recieve soooo much fan mail i.e. Orlando Bloom, Hilary Duff, Oleson Twins, that if they actually took the time to reply to everyone, they'd be sitting there for weeks!
at least they care enough to even do preprints...
now the ones that actually CHARGE for an autograph...THOSE are the ones that bug me.

I aggree with LauraFL. Most celebrities who send out Pre Prints just dont have time to deal with everyones letters- It is nice when they tell you that it is PP or AP becuase at least you are not tthinking that it is real.

I'm just disappointed, you're so excited when you write to them and all you get is a fake. It's unfair...in a way...I think they can do what the Nascar guys do, if they get too many just say that they will not accept autograph requests because they are behind, and that they'll let you know when that pile of mail goes down.
