Emails on this site banned! my thoughts!

I am all against it i mean maybe its easier for the celebs to open an email and if unable to send letter than so be it if yuo really like the person (celeb) youll take the time to type up a very sencire email whats the difference with a letter! and that should be okay butmy family is very poor and i live in australia so postage costs alot more so i find it much cheaper IF the celeb requests a sase than i say okay andTRY to get one what the hell if some peeple sell them who cares? not me if a celeb has an email than they gotta expect peeple to email them asking for autographs! OMG i dont support this rule one tiny lttle bit, thats my point of view!

Email addresses are banned on this forum for very good reasons.
By posting a celebrity's email address in a very public domain, it leaves the address open to abuse and spam by dealers, and those simply looking for a 'free autograph'. Sometimes these email addresses are not even set up for facilitating fanmail requests, and this leaves the companies/persons running them with a major inconvenience.

If you are 'poor' (I believe you're using that word in a very loose fashion...I don't think the starving millions in Africa have internet access like yourself), then you are in the wrong hobby. You will not get a lot of autographs by spending your time 'bumming' off celebrities. If you are a true fan, you will have no problem saving up, writing a letter, and sending it off physically in an envelope.

The majority of the moderation team supports the notion of 'no-email addresses', so this rule will not be revoked.

If you really want to find someone's email address that you are a fan of. There is always a way. We just don't post them here, to avoid the above mentioned abuse.

Using e-mail addresses for celebrities is fine. All the moderators are doing is stopping them from getting spammed. I know I myself used to do this when I started collecting (I was 10), and I got autographs from people I hardly knew, just because I could.
If you really like a celebrity, then nobody is stopping you from researching, and finding an e-mail address yourself. Moderators are just stopping you from distributing them.

Emails are not allowed to be posted to stop people abusing them, as there are so many on here who think its cool to get an autograph, even if they've never heard of the celeb, which is ridiculous. Also it stops dealers having an easy route to free stuff. Both of the reasons Ive mentioned increase the chances of an email address being shut down, yet you're against it?

This may sound harsh, but you're basically against it for selfish reasons. The rules are there to help/protect genuine fans.

Its not like this is the only site on the internet, there are plenty of ways to find email addresses, but if you can't be bothered to do a little research (like a LOT of people on this site it seems) then you're obviously not much of a fan to that person.

ALL the emails posted on here that people have gotten success from are deleted!!why?people abuse them and just want a free autograph! end of story!

I agree completely with the reasons why emails can't be posted but it's very sad that collectors can't share email information for those reasons.

I think we can share the info by PM if we really want to. Keep it to the collectors and not the dealers who just want the signatures to sell.
