Hi all,

Just sitting here tonight checking out all the posts and was thinking of the autographs that I really want to add to my collection. Not just to have them but celebrities/artists that I really admire and for one reason or another would truly want to add to my collection. I think that if it's someone that you really want to have it should be a short list. So.... think about it before posting. I'll start off.....I have been collecting autographs for over 30 years and have been cahasing AUTHENTIC signatures of a lot of celebrities. The ones I am obsessed with obtaing are.... Neil Diamond, Barbara Streisand and Linda Ronstadt. I am a huge fan of them and would covet authentic signatures. I have in the past purchased some of them only to find them forged. So.. let's keep it to your top 3 and why. Don't just state your top 3. Tell us why you would like to have their autograph added to your collection.

Thanks,
Chappy

Ooh, so interesting!

1. Jim Morrison
a] He's someone that I actually admire [music wise]
b] Him being dead, me finding an autograph of him would be very slim, dontcha think?
c] He was in my favorite band ever.

2. Seth MacFarlane
a] He's funny.
b] He's on one of my favorite TV shows.
c] I dunno of a 3rd reason. He's just really funny.

3. Loretta Lynn
a] Both me and my mom gre up listening to her music.
b] She's the Queen of Country Music!
...I've already written to her, so if she replies back, that kinda leaves 2 left... xD

1. Stephenie Meyer- She is one of my favorite authors. The two book series that have made a big difference in my life are The Harry Potter series and The Twilight Saga. I am blessed to have received a kind letter from JK Rowling and I would love to have Stephenie's as well.

2. Peyton Manning- He is my favorite quarterback of all time. I have so much respect for him (and a crush!) and having his authentic autograph would be amazing.

3. Oscar De La Hoya- Oscar has been my favorite boxer since 1992. I think he is an amazing person, a strong fighter and good sport. I have admired him for many years and boxing in my life is summed up by this man. I am pretty sure he is going to retire and having an authentic autograph from him would mean the world to me.

There are tons of others I am desperate for but as of right now I guess these are top three but I'd love the Twilight cast, Harry Potter cast and Gossip Girl cast.

However stars from the past, i'd choose

1. Audrey Hepburn- in my opion one of the most amazing actresses and a great woman.

2. Viven Leigh- I love Gone With The Wind

3. Clark Gable- Rhett Butler, nuff said.

Yeah!! That's what I'm taklkin' about!! It's not so much just acquiring a signature just to have it but WHY do you covet it.
We all want to have a lot of autographs but there are those special few that we would give anything to have. What are your top 3 and WHY???

I want Neil Diamond because I grew up listening to his music. Seen him in concert in the 80's and felt he loved performing.

I want Linda Ronstadt because she sings like an angel and is very reclusive adding to her alure. Tough sig to get.

I want Barbara Streisand because she has a spectacular voice, is an accomplihed actress and she is just so damned hard to get an authentic signature. She hates her fans and I love that!! She just never signs for anybody.

Please feel free to add your thoughts. lets have some fun with this discussion and if anyone has authentic IP sigs of any of the above and wants to part with them...give me a jingle!!

Happy Collecting,
Chappy

Mariah Carey - My total hero. Her music has helped me through so many difficult things in my life. The lyrics of her songs are so meaningful to me. They give me chills everytime I hear them. I chose 'One Sweet Day' to be played at my Mum's funeral because the words were just perfect to how I felt. I hope one day I can meet Mariah and tell her this. She has helped me through everything.

Michelle Rodriguez - I admire this woman so much. She has overcome and achieved so much in her life and I really respect her for that. I love the types of roles she plays in her films, the strong, independent woman. I like to think I have become a stronger and more confident person thanks to her. She has inspired me so much to follow my dreams and be what I want to be. She's a beautiful person, and again I would love to meet her to tell her all this.

Shania Twain - My Mum and I absolutely adored Shania Twain. We had all her albums between us and always planned to go to see her in concert together. Listening to Shania's music reminds me of all the happy times we shared together, but also makes me sad because I want more of those moments.

Good subject Chappy!

My three would have to be...

Madeleine LeBeau. The last living member from Casablanca. I've been working for the last 6 or 7 years to get an address for her. You have no idea how many French and Italian sites I've looked through for any information.

Paul McCartney. One of my top three musical heroes. I've come as close as being 5 feet from him, but he wasn't signing anything. Can't tell you how many hours I've spent hanging out at hotels looking for him when he tours. I've met the rest of his band, just not him.

Neil Young. I have a Woodstock album signed by over 40 performers of that festival. Crosby, Stills, and Nash have all signed for me, I just need Neil. I had a meet and greet lined up for him a few years ago, but he left right after the show and left us all standing there in the venue lobby.

Robert Capa- Famous war photographer, was actually the first person to die in Vietnam, by stepping on a landmine. He was also one of only two photographers to go ashore with the troops on D-Day, every photo we have from the invasion today, he took. He was the person that inspired me to become a photographer.

Joe Rosenthal- Took the famous photo that was the subject of Flags of our Fathers. I'm inspired everytime I see that photo. Whenever I see his photos or Robert Capa's I always think that maybe one day I'll be able to take a photo that will make such an impact as these two men's have.

C.S. Lewis- I grew up reading his books, I collect all older copies of any of his books. I even have a set with the original order (the way he wrote them) of the Narnia series.

For me:

1.) Bob Marley. He is, (in my opinion anyway!), the greatest musician to have ever lived. His lyrics and melodies are truly inspiring, and if I could only have had his autograph in my collection I would be completely satisfied!

2.) Joe Strummer, The Clash. Another musical idol of mine who sadly passed away. Loved his voice, his attitude, his authenticity as a person and his message.

3.) Robert Mugabe. Just because he's a really crazy, but utterly fascinating dictator. He's like the Hitler of our times.

The Notorious BIG - In my opinion he is the greatest rapper that ever lived. Plus he is dead, making it even more difficult to obtain.
Walt Disney- I am a huge Disney fan. He was a great man, and he also is deceased.
Seth Rogen- A hilarious man. I am currently waiting on a reply from him. :)
