Downloadable autographs?

Unread post by dragonflyer260 »

After my excitement of finding out the Melbourne Olympic Park venue would pass on fanmail to the tennis players during the Australian Open, i started looking for pics of Lleyton Hewitt. I went onto his website to see if there were any photos and i discovered that because of his large amount of autograph requests he no longer signs at all. But instead you can download a copy of a signed photo. This got me angry.

Now to me PPs, AP's and secs are bad, but when you have to print out a copy or use it as your computer wallpaper it sees like a real cop out.

Have many people come across this? and what do people think?

I actually had this happen to me before...it was kind of strange. It was a bandmate from a band called Anvil. I asked them for an autograph thru email and their lead singer emailed me back saying that they don't have any signed photos and the band isn't around at the moment. So...instead of not giving me anything, he got a quick piece of paper, signed and personalized it, scanned it, and attached it to my email. It's somewhat of a strange way to get an autograph, but...it's original in some way.
