Who is/was the hardest autograph to obtain TTM/IP?

Hello all!
I've been browsing through my collection and I still can't believe I eventually got certain replies!

So, I've been wondering: who's autograph is/was the hardest to obtain either TTM or in person
to you? It can be someone who's autograph you eventually got or you are still trying to get it. {thumb2} To some celebrities you simply write again and again with no luck or try to meet them without success, but giving up just yet is not an option!

I've made a little list.
1. Paul Bettany - he doesn't reply via his agency so I've tried writing to Paul via his movie sets for 3 years without luck. I finally got a personalised & signed photo from him in March 2008!
2. Zac Efron - I think I've wrote to him at 5 different addresses and after waiting a year, I got his autograph!
3. Milo Ventimiglia - again, he only signs via venue so I'm patiently waiting for an address to write him!
4. Audrey Tautou - she's very hard to obtain both TTM and in person, so after trying for 3 years I got her autograph yesterday!
I guess it's part of the fun waiting for replies from those who you've tried many times before - when you get it eventually, you're overjoyed!

Usually, I send some kind of special SASE for my "most wanted" ones so when I see the envelope I know it's one I've been wanting for quite some time!
Thanks,
zanne

I suppose the hardest would be Sir Paul McCartney - But I have finally found an address ( which is private

)
and i know for a fact he will reply from thier - fingers crossed
I also really want and I know this remark will prove conterversial - Robert Mugabe, yes he may be the worlds biggest human rights abuser but, if i got his autograph I would own a bit of history (well, in a way

)
last but not least, the gorgeous Cheryl Cole ( Girls Aloud ) I am hoping to write to her and them VV.
Interesting topic, Zanne
Sam

The hardest for me to get was actually the Carolina Panthers mascot, Sir Purr!
I had been trying to get him since 2004, before I even started autograph collecting properly. I wrote to him several times over the 4 years, and then I decided to email him, and in December 2008 I finally got him!
One which I've been trying since 2006 is Mischa Barton. I remember sending out 3 requests in one day to different addresses but never got anything back, except a RTS from 'The O.C' address. Although I'm not so much of a fan of hers anymore because I think she's let herself go way too much and has done things I don't agree with, it would still be a nice autograph to have as I have been a fan of hers since she starred in Lawn Dogs, waaaay before The O.C!
Another is Michelle Rodriguez. I tried her at 2 different addresses but never received anything back. She is my most wanted autograph so I will definitely try her again sometime.
All of my most wanted autographs (you can see them in my sig) are really difficult ones to get, but hopefully one day I'll be able to add them all to my collection!

David Crosby. He's the world's worst signer. If he does sign he verbally abuses you first. I did manage to get my Woodstock album signed after a couple of tries.
Paul McCartney. One of my all-time musical heroes. I've tried him TTM to many venues, hung out at hotels, and even got as close as a few feet from him before an awards ceremony. I'll keep trying because I have a few friends that have gotten him IP.
Madeleine LeBeau. She's the only living member from Casablanca. I've been searching for an address for her for many years. I've tried sending her a letter through her husband at a couple of places with no success. I thought I had an address for her in Italy last year but recieved no response.

Nice topic zanne
Just like Sam (brighton4eva) stated above, I too
really want President Robert Mugabe's autograph. I've sent numerous emails and letters to different addresses, and have had no reply

In one of my requests I even sent a large photo, relatively expensive gold marker and money for stamps, so I was disappointed to not receive anything back.
I also tried to get him IP at the Sandton Convention Center recently, but his security completely refused to help me in the least.
I hope I'll get his autograph (a real historic piece) before he dies.

The ones I got TTM:
Alan Alda - I tried for years to get his - and finally got it.
Placido Domingo - waited 4 years for one, and 3 years for another. I have 4 more requests out to him - so maybe I'll get them.
The ones I haven't gotten TTM:
Ringo Starr - Mailed to him in March or April 08 - nothing yet. I did write to his Monaco addy, so maybe that was the reason.
Jackie Chan - I've tried him about 5 times - and it's really annoying how everyone gets a response but me. I've tried VV, to his Hong Kong addy and nothing.

I'm super bummed out about this one cos I really really want it.

I wouldn't give up hope, maybe it's still on it's way - I wrote to Ringo at the Monaco address too and received my autograph about 2 months ago.

He's not a big star like Paul but for me it's definetley Rob Pattinson. Tomorrow will be the 100th day since I sent my SASE to him. And now with all the hype surronding Twilight, I feel very discouraged

well Rob Pattinson doesn't answer a lot of letters.
Unfortunately William Moseley hasn't replyed my letter (I sent him one on September 1st 2008)
and Anna Popplewell. I haven't seen too much letters of her.

On the contrary Robert has answered many. If you search through the database you'll see many successes from him untill recently.
I love William & Anna
