Hi All,

Any of you request/ obtain autographs for your friends as gifts? Personally, I have done so quite a few times. I usally get the celeb to sign "Happy Birthday" on the item too :)

How about you guys?

I haven't actually received any yet but recently I have been sending off to some people for my boyfriend that I know he is a huge fan of. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to save them for his birthday or not, I'll decide when/if they come! I think if he's over here I'll give them to him straight away, but if he's still in Egypt then I'll save them :)

I also went to a book signing of the chef James Martin for my sisters husband for Christmas, but when I got there they'd almost doubled the price of the book so I changed my mind!

I think autograhs as presents is such a great idea though, it's something they can always keep, and if the item is personalised and they are a huge fan of the person then it would be so special to them.

I have requested a few for my husband or my mom as gifts.

I got a Chubby Checker autograph for my mom, cos she and I would always listen to his music while I was growing up, and she cried when I gave it to her. I had it professionally framed (all acid free of course) and it's hanging in her room.

I've requested to the Jonas Brothers for my friends. They {??} LOVE {??} them. I'm sure I would be #1 BF if I can get one

I got Tom Daley for one of my best friends birthday, I hope she will go nuts with them rather than thinking collecting autographs is pointless or doubting its authenticity :?

Hey! ;-)

Not for my friends (they just ask for addresses, they write the letters themselves), but I got a surprise personalised autograpg for me and my mom from "Brothers & Sisters" actor Matthew Rhys!

Thanks,
zanne

Hi! :D

Well, I get autographs for my beloved cousin and mum pretty often. My mum's fan only of few male celebs and Czech actors from times between WW1 and WW2, so far I got Colin firth and René Steinke for her, and recently I've bought her an autograph of her most favourite Czech actress of the 1930s/1940s for Christmas. For my cousin I got for example Jeremy Irons, Matthew MacFadyen or Geoffrey Rush, she's a great fan of a lot of same celebrities as I am, so I often ask in my letters for one extra autograph for her. I just love seeing their face expression when I give the autographs to them

Enjoy, Sammya

Yes, I've done this many times. It's good to give a gift like that to someone knowing that it's not bought at a store and you took the time to get it.
