How do you request your autographs?
Are you straightforward with your request?
Do you ask politely, or demand one?
Do you repeat how you request, or is it different every time?
---
These questions haunt me all the time. Throw in any details!

I think it'll be entertaining to see all the different posts, depending on whether or not anyone posts, that is. Haha.. KEEP THE TOPIC ALIVE PLEASE! {love}
I, for one, always ask differently and I try to be as nice as possible. I never rush an autograph, I always ask that they sign only if they are available, which is more than likely NEVER, but it's worth a try?

I always try to be polite, and I always add it as a P.S, because I don't like to be all "pushy" (I guess that's what you call it?).
Ex:
"P.S: I've enclosed a picture and index card. If you could please sign this for me, and maybe personalize it, I'd appreciate it! Thank you so much!"

I guess I'm quite pushy in my requests.

I ask directly (but very politely) for an autograph in my introduction and my conclusion. I just want it to be pretty clear that the intention of my writing to them is to receive some kind of response (preferably authentic/personalized), whilst getting across that I really admire their work.

Nice! But you get a lot of autos from that technique, which is amazing! (: I'll test out everyone's techniques. Hehe.
To whoever moved my topic: THANKS HEAPS!

I always ask in the last paragraph. I say everything I want to about their films/music/books etc. first, and then I end by asking if they could send me a signed picture if they have the time and it's not too much trouble. I think they realise you're after an autograph when you include a SASE though!

Hi!
I usually ask for an autograph/reply in my last paragraph (after I've told them that I admire their work and I wrote a bit about myself), but it is never the same to everyone I write, each letter I write is unique and very different (I wouldn't be able to remember what I wrote anyways!).

I ask very politely if it's possible to send me an autographed photo, then I add that I've included a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope along with my request (so they know about it in case it gets lost in the stack of mail or something!). {thumb2} I get most of my letters answered so it seems it works!
Thanks!
