Do you get frustrated?

Unread post by horselightning »

Do any of you get frustrated with RTS, or the wait for an autograph? It gets frustating to seend a request out and keep getting it back because the address isnt right. boy is that annyoing. I just sent a request back out to Jameson Parker and I hope its the right address this time.

I'm still waiting for an answer to my request from Richard Thomas. Its been a month did anyone else here write him?

I also wrote to the producer of Simon & Simon. He wrote a book and I wanted to ask him some questions about the show. I sure hope he answers too.

I still want to try Gerald Mcraney but I thought I'd wait a bit on the ones I sent out. See what happens.

The only thing I can suggest is do some research first before you send out any requests. If there have been no recent successes using the address then search around to make sure it's still up to date. If there have been no successes from that person then check on their agency's website to make sure they are still with that agency.
I have only received one RTS before, but that was because the person I wrote to had left the show before my letter arrived and they were not able to forward it to her. I would much rather get a RTS than not hear anything back though, atleast then you get your pictures etc. back so you could resend it to a different address.
A month is no time at all. Patience is very important in autograph collecting! Be prepared to wait a year or more for some successes to come back. Don't start worrying until atleast 6 months I would say!

Well I actually get frustrated when I send out requests to people who do sign things. Then I look at the time they take to send autographs, and then I calculate how long on average it may take for me.

I know it differs from person to person, but for some people you can get a rough idea. So then I get frustrated when they go over the time schedule I believe it to be. At the end of the day, it's my own fault, as I really shouldn't try and put a legnth on things. But, oh well.

Actually, I don't mind RTS so much. You get your stuff back so you can re-send. But if you get it back because they REFUSE, it's a whole different story. Of course, I've never gotten a refused request before though. ;-)

And, a month is nothing in the autograph world. I've waited 6 months to get one before. Sent in May or April and got in October or November. The key to this hobby is patience, so you just gotta be patient {thumb2}. Good luck collecting, though, and I hope you get all your requests back, and may your mailbox be full! [ugotmail]

well jameson is the only rts i ever got. theres no way to tell unless you try with him, becasue people havent tried to write h im sence the 80s. so i figured i at least would give record of what dosent work for others. and all the ones i try are on his resumes. so i figure one will work.

i wrote to all four monkees once. and the only one that answerd me was peter tork 6 month later. it suprised me cause i gave up every hearing. that was my first time writing. i do have all four monkee autographs now.

to bad paul mccartney dont sign ujnless its in person. i gues not everyone spends thwe time to do it.

I'm frustrated that David Caruso doesn't sign ttm any more :( He gets so many requests from CSI Miami fans but I'm a fan of CSI Miami, NYPD Blue and all his movies too. I deserve an autograph for being a true, devoted fan don't I?

Umm 6 monthis is *nothing* to wait in the autograph collecting hobby. I waited a minimum of 4 years for one (most likely longer, judging by one of the stamps I'd used).

Give it time - celebs are busy!

And no, I don't get frustrated. The more letters you write, the more likely you'll get more responses!

Sometimes when I see a bunch of people getting a bunch of replies back, I get kinda frustrated. Then I remember that (in some cases) the longer the wait the better the result. And plus, when I send a request out it just so happens that usually the celebrity has just gone through the fanmail and did a bunch of signings so I wait a little longer. But it doesn't bother me that much. I just keep looking forward to checking the mail! [ugotmail]

Just got one today that I sent out 9 years ago!! It was Darryl Strawberry. I never expected that one back.
So see, it's patience.

The more you write, the more successes you'll have - and you can always re-send the RTS's. :)
