I appreciate everything that celebs do for the public and I respect the fact that they may not want to take the time to sign photos-that's fine! That's just my oppinion-anyone else?

I agree with you when it comes to secretarials which are then passed off as being genuine.
However, I don't think this applies to pre-prints / autopens which are not "fakes" they are simply a copy (or facsimile) of the celebs autograph.
One thing that largely goes unmentioned is the fact that if it were not for preprints then many celebrities would simply not have the time to send anything out at all. Just beacuse a celeb sends out preprints on the whole, does not mean that you will never be able to get an original from them.
In fact by sending out preprints (which satisfy a massive percentage of their fan base) it actually leaves time to do the odd one-off authentic auto for that "special" fan.
By special I mean the fan who bothers to write a decent letter, and who can demonstrate that they know a bit about the actor or whatever, as opposed to those people just collecting for collectings sake!
After all, it is not only the time-cost to the celebrity, there is also a financial cost for postage / photos etc. I know the biggest celebs can absorb this cost more easily, but the vast majority of autograph successes reported are not from A-Listers.
Believe me, if you saw some of the request letters I get, you would understand what I meant!!!! A little politeness goes a long long way . . . . .!
