articles in the news like the one in my paper that said agents are telling celebs not to answer fanmail because of stalkers. and i just sent out three i'm waiting on. dang. makes you afraid to waste the time you know.

this is a shame but really isnt the celebs fault its the mentally unstable fans, i mean look at shawn johnsons because of her stalker she now has a bodyguard 24/7 something she never had before this. but really theirs nothing you can do about this stalkers ruin it for the good fans like myself and all my freinds here on fanmai.biz. as a fan of celebrities, i care about their safety and would never ever harm someone i admire because its wrong they have lives to live and families to go home to.

Yes there is still a point in writing as there are still so many celebrities who respond. We do have to understand what it's like for some celebrities though. Imagine being terrified to open every letter you receive. There are solutions for this, such as them hiring someone to sort through their mail first and only passing on the genuine fan letters to them. I don't see any point in giving up the hobby, just be a little more understanding

i dont know if the agents sort through fan mail anymore or not. usually they gather it up and give it all to the celebs and they go through an answer the ones they want. i supose someone could. i always wonder if micky dolenz agent sorts for him. when he was working for the radio staton in ny they just gave it all to him i think. always good to be considerate of a persons feelings though.

Most but not all celebrities have a secretary go through the mail for them. And honestly, the celebrity won't always listen to their agent and not answer fanmail. If you take a celebrity who loves answering autograph requests, and their agent tells them to stop, then it's not like they're going to stop doing something they love! They can just hire a secretary to sort all the mail and stuff. Honestly, if I were a secretary, I'd get all the photos and SASEs and stuff, and put a sticky note saying what their name is, so the secretary views the fanmail, but the celebrity will get the fanmail too, but they don't have to view hate mail and threatening stuff, the secretary will do that.

Honestly, the 21st century is crazy, I wouldn't be surprised if most celebrities got mail threatening to seriously injure the celebrity almost everyday.

Then what is the use writing if some one sorts and only gives thme some of there fan mail? its a waste of a stamp. not everyone wants an autograph they just want to write. if that note never gets to them then they wasted their time and stamp. i can see getting rid of negative mail it can get scary. i know peter torks mail is all gatherd up and mailed to him in conneticut and he goes through it. davy's is sent to his post office box and goes through it himself . those are examples anyway. i dont know if micky still gets it all or not. i think he sorts it hisself i would guess. i know you send fan mail to his agent. i never heard of a secretary. only with nesmith.
