I have a mailman that likes to fold and bend things too,its like they just do whats easy for them and ignore whats written on the envelopes,i now send only the hard cardboard type return envelopes made for documents and pictures the shipping and envelopes cost alot more but even my stupid mailman cant bend them, but he has come close...It is every autograph collectors nightmare to receive a envelope folded in half.

My mailman is always really good, but awhile ago I got a photo from Nikki Blonsky, and it looked like someone ran over it and then crumpled it! It was totally ruined!

If my envelope is too big to fit in my letterbox without being bent or has DO NOT BEND written on it, he always knocks on the door to hand it in. My postman is great!

Same here, if it doesn't fit, my postman brings it up to my flat

Because they dont have to follow instructions from the envelope. Their job is only to deliver mail. If something has to be bent to deliver it, then thats what they'll do.
If you wrote "Dance on the spot for 5 minutes" on an envelope, would you expect the mailman to do that too?

My post man is pretty good. Ive only had one autograph 'Edith Bowman' that was completely in half! But im not sure if i actually put 'Please do not bend' on the envelope so its really my fault. Some of my EE autographs do have their corners bend a little.

My postman is great too, if it says do not bend and it's too big to fit in the mail slot, he'll knock on the door and hand it to me personally, he's great.
