Just curious. How long do you wait before you resend an autograph request?

When I first started out, I went by the 6 month rule. Now I really don't resend to people, so having to practicing the rule for me is rare.

I don't usually re-send. I've had some requests take anywhere from 2 days to over 700+. I just keep being patient. {thumb2}

I am an advocate of patience by and large and happy to wait, even if it means waiting years, with two exceptions.

1. Like many around here I study feedback at different forums around the world so you can get an idea if someone is replying to everyone that has sent to them. If you notice that someone you sent to is signing like mad, and you do not get a reply within a month or so of that, I think it is reasonable to resend.

2. When trying for the really hard to get people (not always big names either), it is worth a few efforts as if they do read their mail, they may be impressed with your persistance. Stuart Damon is my classic example. I sent my first request to him in 2000 via the General Hospital address and eventually got a reply in September 2007 with my 5th request to Stuart the GH address!

Never answered my own question. I usually wait at least 4months before I start looking into it. I have found instances where the actor has moved agents or someone has a better address to use. Also, if I see they are at a venue where they may get less mail. I might send another request out.

For me, it depends how many successes were received since I sent my request out. If there are lots of them, I resend my request otherwise I wait. Usually I wait around 6 months, maybe 1 year but it depends who was I writing to.
Actually I resend my request only 2 until now ;)

Hi zipbags! ;)

Normally, I would wait 6+ months before re-writing. {thumb2} However, if I happen to find a via venue address, I would write there too, even if it's only a week later (than when I send to the agency) because chances are that I could get a reply easier VV. :) In the past, I re-wrote very easily because I honestly believed that I won't get a reply - that's why I have two successes from Chris Evans (Johnny/Human Torch in "Fantastic Four" films), Wentworth Miller and Audrey Tautou. {up}

Also, I think it also depends on who you plan on re-writing to: for example, one can only be patient when awaiting a reply from people like Robert Pattinson, Zac Efron or Rachel McAdams as they're very popular and can take months or even more than a year to respond. It's not really necessary to write to them again as they will eventually get to your letter. :)

Here is another example.... I wrote to two of the actresses from the Batman animated series. After 3 months I rechecked them. One had an address that was different than the one I used. And from the feedback on Fanmail.biz, is where she checks her mail. Also, one request went to the agency CESD in LA. And after calling to confirm she was still with them. I was told they DO NOT forward fan mail. So I called the NY office of CESD. And they said they would. :roll:
