Pieces from Deceased Celebs

Unread post by AxlSlash »

What celebs have you gotten autographs from that are now deceased? Mine are:

Larry Gelbart - Got it through the mail early on this summer. He passed away not 3 months later.

Michael Crichton - at a book signing when I was like 13. I absolutely loved the Jurassic Park books and Andromeda Strain. Book is signed "To Seth- It was a pleasure getting to meet you." One of my favorites

George Carlin - Met George at the same store where I met Michael Crichton. He wouldn't personalize the books, but made up for it by personalizing the experience - had a full convo with anyone who wanted. I talked to him for a good 2 or 3 minutes.

Writing to cult tv stars and British character actors of the 60s, I've unfortunately seen quite a few of my past successes pass away (as well as others passing before I got a chance to write :( ). Off the top of my head (and some of these names might not be overly familiar) -

Wrote to Gareth Hunt, Ronnie Barker, George Sewell, Ed Bishop, William Franklyn, Freddie Francis and a good few others who all gave me lovely replies and have since sadly passed away.

In person, met Michael Craze, John Scott Martin and John Cater at various times, all very very nice and all sadly passed away.

The only autograph I have acquired after the death of the signer was buying Jon Pertwee's autograph a few years back.
