house addresses
i feel kind of strange for asking this, but would anyone on here send a letter and request to a celeb's house address? i notice that a few collectors on here find addresses on whitepages, send stuff and get replies, but i was just curious as to whether or not people approve of it?
Re: house addresses
I wouldn't. I think they have fanmail addresses for a reason, and I would feel like I was bothering him or her at home. But that's just me.

Re: house addresses
I agree with Beau,
They have their fanmail addresses so their fans can write to them, it would be so annoying having hundreds of fan letters coming to your house.
Once one person uses a home address, a lot more will follow.

Re: house addresses
You left out a HUGE point. The persons who use white pages use if specifically because the "celeb" dosen't have a fanmail address. Retired and many times current sports stars and wrestlers don't have agencies to handle fan mail. I use home addresses for those situations and have never had a problem.
If someone were to try the phonebook for Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt you wouldn't find them. They don't want to be found. Retired athletes and wrestlers live as regular joes. And they get little to no fan mail so they don't mind it. If you locate say Adam Sandlers home address you would not get a success. You wouldn't even get a pre print.
There are certain specifications for every situation. If someone does not have any fanmail agency it is fair game to try any publicly listed address.

Like Chris said, Some celebs don't use an agent after their retired. I sometimes will send to house addresses if I can't find a regular fanmail address.

Re: house addresses
Yes, like others have stated, I would only use a celebrities home address if that was the only way of contacting them and as long as it was clear that they didn't mind. I have only used a home address once (for Mary Costa) and received a lovely reply. It seems that the only way to contact her is at her home address and since she had sent some lovely responses to people before me it was clear that she didn't mind.

Thanks -Lil1- for the amazing set!

Ok, I see your point. Yeah, in that case, I would send it too the home address. But only when he/she doesn't have a fanmail address
Re: house addresses
I too, only use a home address if there is no other way to contact the person. I use the site http://www.zabasearch.com and is always were I start.Beau wrote:Ok, I see your point. Yeah, in that case, I would send it too the home address. But only when he/she doesn't have a fanmail address

Over 9,000 requests sent since 1986.

Re: house addresses
sending if they don't have a fanmail address is ok, but what if you send to their agent and VV and get no response? would you send to their house address?
