I see that many folks have emialed their requests and have had success.
Can someone explain the proper procedure-Do you just ask for an autograph with a note?
Thanks for the help-

I would suggest that you follow the same format (more or less) that you use in a snail mail request. One note I always offer to pay postage or other charges or ask about a mailing address to send something to be signed.
Hope that helps at least a little.

ditto what Dana wrote, and don't forget to include your mailing address as many times they will simply send you a signed photo--but it is nicer to offer to send an SASE and photo.

I write near enough the same as what I write when requesting TTM
I include my address in the first email and I say something like 'Please get back to me if you can telling me if this request is possible.'
Good luck

I find that half the time that I get a success, I don't get an e-mail back letting me know I'll get it. The websites that can be/should be used, are celebs personal official websites, as well as a number of successes have come through myspace and facebook, if you're writing to a tv star, the tv show website will usually not work in the case of dramas and sitcoms, but usually will work if it's a talk show. Always make it's an official site and not a fan site first. But generally my letters and e-mails read basically the same.

I write my email requests just I like I do my TTM requests. I introduce myself, Name, Age, Several hobbies I enjoy doing. I mention what a couple of my life goals are. Thank them for being such a talented performer whether it be Actor, Musician, Political ect. I Tell them that I checked out their webistes (If they have one) if I read something about them that interests me I'll make mention of it.
And at the bottom, I kindly ask if they can send me a personalized and signed photo, and inlcude my address.
Generally I'll get an email back within 2 days to 4 months saying thanks for the kind words and that a photo is on the way to my house.

I should also mention that if you read others e-mail successes, it gives you a great idea of what to expect, getting an autograph from Dan Aykroyd through e-mail was 100% different in every way compared to my autograph I got via e-mail from Frangela
