Random thing I hate that I keep seeing.

When people post e-mail successes, then they just go out and say "I am NOT posting/PMing/etc the e-mail address. Forget it!!"
If you knew that people were gonna ask, and PM you, and stuff, then why did you post the success on the site, and mention that you got it via e-mail in the first place?
I know it's random... but yeah... it urks my nerves.
Sorry for the semi-pointless rant.
Oh, and
Happy Thanksgiving.

Well it lets you know that they do sign via Email and if you take the time and research the address yourself it makes you appreciate the autograph and photo all that more.

Knowing that you had to work to find it.

Not pointless at all. Some people just like to brag, I guess. Makes them feel powerful or something.
And a happy, if not a little belated, Thanksgiving to you too!

Reporting your successes seems like it's for two purposes, to let other people know that they may want to try to, and also to brag. I've had a couple successes that I got from addresses that I can not share, because I knew somebody who knew somebody, etc, and I feel like it's pointless to show them off for the reasons you describe!

I do not post emails due to spamming but usually I only use those that are not hard to find so even I do not post it and someone is really interested in it, he/she can PM me or find it at the database. But I hate when several people write to an email someone posted just because they can sell an autograph after.

I
totally agree with you omgitscaro.
I have quite a few successes via e-mail but I don't post them because a true fan would write the person anyway even without knowing if he/she would respond. And I don't want the celeb to get spammed.

Yeah, I guess it would tell you that the celebs responds via e-mail (if
at all), if there were no previous responses. But really, I still don't see the point in posting if you can help out anyone else--- and the thing that just kind of really gets on my nerves is that when people are rude about it.
"I got this autograph, he's awesome lol. Don't ask for address or anything, because I won't give it to you! PERSONEL!"
Thanks for the nice responses! Nice to see some opinions!

The thing is though, even if we cant post the email/address, part of this community is about sharing successes. If you're interested in autographs, the theory goes that you'd be able to appreicate and comment on another autograph even if you cant obtain one (easily) yourself. If we banned email successes then surely we'd have to ban IP successes (like at premiers/events rather than long running theatre) and bought successes, as you cant write off for them yourself either, which would make no sense.

I completely agree. It's just a look at me, I have connections; thread. I NEVER post a success that I can't share the address. As mentioned it's pointless and rubs other members the wrong way.
Essentially it's like name dropping. "Oh yeah? Well I know so and so, who brought over so and so, and we talked about such and such.
Plus there are MUCH better ways to go about it. Like "I can't provide the address, but for those who really want to try, with research you might get lucky". The "I'm not going to give it so don't bother me with your petty PM's is nothing but a display of rudeness.
