Anyone like getting their DVDs signed? I've gotten to rather like them. I don't have a huge amount, but it's nice to pull a movie off the shelf and see a signature or two.
So far I have:
The Bad Seed and Mommy signed by Patty McCormack
Creature from the Black Lagoon Legacy set signed by Julie Adams, Lori Nelson, Gregg Palmer, Brett Halsey, Tom Weaver (commentary), and Bob Burns (commentary) -- my personal fave
Trailers from Hell vol. 1 signed by Joe Dante and Mick Garris
Doctor Who: The Invisible Enemy signed by Bob Baker (writer)
Doctor Who: Caves of Androzani signed by Graeme Harper (director)
Wallace and Gromit: the First Three Adventures insert signed by Peter Sallis (Wallace) and Bob Baker
Halloween and The Fog signed by John Carpenter
Trilogy of Terror VHS signed by Karen Black

I have sent a few sleeves. I really like the idea of having them signed! I still haven't gotten any back yet though

Yes. I send them all the time, and currently have 56 in my collection. To avoid the problem of losing the covers I scan them and print them out...then cut to fit and put the copies in the dvd holder until the originals come back. This way if they don't come back its no big deal....but currently only two or three are lost causes. If you want to see an awesome collection check out Ethan Van Sciver's collection....he only sends dvd covers and has some remarkable successes.

I have two covers signed - Casanova and Takin Over The Asylum both signed by David Tennant. I'd love to know if there was a way of protecting them when they're back in their DVD case hmmm.

I think as long as they are not in direct sunlight then it's fine, I've not had any problems with sigs fading etc.
I have a fair few signed DVDs, including...
Bruce Almighty by Jim Carrey
The Queen by Michael Sheen
Corpse Bride by Johnny Depp
Nanny McPhee by Colin Firth
Mamma Mia by Colin Firth
a selection of Doctor Who DVDs / inserts signed by a selection from the cast (David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Penelope Wilton et al)
The Office signed by Ricky Gervais
undoubtedly more, but they're the ones from the top of my head!

^ I'm more worried about potential acid in the DVD covers. I doubt they're archival safe! lol
