Help with writing to bands.

Hello there.

I going to try my very first VV request soon for one of my favorite bands, Modest Mouse, and I have one question about how to address my letter.
Should I address my letter "Dear (Band Name) or should I address to each member by name?
Also when trying to get a signing VV will all venues pass on fanmail or will I need to find out if they will first?

Any advice would be greatly apreciated.

You can address it to the band, and definitely make sure the venue passes on mail before you send anything.

Thanks for your helpful reply. I sent an email to the venue asking if they will pass my mail on. I hope they say yes.

Does anyone know if Modest Mouse sign autos?

I haven't personally seen any MM successes, but they seem nice enough! If you never try, you'll never know

When I begin my letters, I always name each band member. I find it more personal and nicer to make each member feel special by calling them out individually.

Thanks for your comments Velvetgold. I think I will address it to each member by name just to give it a more personal touch.
Also I have seen videos of MM's singer (Isaac Brock) signing for fans after shows so I hope they will sign VV, like you said if I never try I will never know.

The venue said that they would hold my letter then pass it on Which is a good start!
