To some JFK assassination figures, I have. I like to leave that little part out with everybody else.

I've sometimes said "it would be a great addition to my collection" but that's about as close as ive gotten to that lol.

Nope! I leave that part out on my letters. Mainly because I don't want them to think I'm going to resell it later on, which we all know I won't.

Instead I just mention some of my other favorite hobbies.
If I'm working on a cast series, I will mention that their signature would make a honorable addition to my project.

No. I think it would sound really crass to tell who you're writing to they are being added to a collection. I just say I'm a big fan and it would be an honor to have his/her autograph.

Generally not. Depends on the celeb. Someone like Amanda Seyfried I don't think would get too bent out of shape lol. What I often say is, for example, I am collecting autographs from a certain movie.
