When you send a letter asking for an autograph what do you say in the letter? I am looking for ideas on what to say.
Thanks

Whenever I write a letter to a celebrity I simply introduce myself and then tell them exactly why I like them and what they have done that I have enjoyed. After that I politely request a signed photo and I finish by thanking them for their time and consideration.
That's pretty much all you need to include.
Hope this helps

I do pretty much as Jack S said.
"Dear Nice Celebrity
"How are you?
"Crikey, I mean, Blimey! I mean, wow, that a and/or b and/or c was just (insert suitable adjective), it must have been awesome while you were doing it.
"I used to run home three miles from school in just under seven minutes to watch you in it, and it inspired me to ...
"Could I have your autograph please?
"Thank you
"All the best, Me"
... sort of thing.
I'll drop in a joke or an amusing (very short) anecdote if I think the person I'm writing to will appreciate it, if I'm not confident about it I'll leave it out. I don't presume to imagine that the person I'm writing to will have any interest in my life, so I'll often not mention myself at all.
Sometimes I find that when it comes to sitting down to write the letter I just can't think of anything to say, so I'll write to someone else. It's a bit like deciding which friend to phone, pick out one you CAN think of something to say to.

Dear *name*,
Thanks for taking the time to read this.. Appreciate it.. etc.
I really enjoyed A, B, C, Especially A/B/C, I found it outsiding because of X, I think you did a great job.
I'd greatly appreciate it if you'd please personalise autograph onto photo.
Best of luck in future,
*your name*

Above all, keep the letter brief and allow the celeb/actor to respond to you at their own time/ leisure. As actors normally have deadlines/ contracts to adhere to and asking for something to be returned by next Monday because it's your little Tommy's birthday - just isn't the thing to do.
