Hey guys, just discovered this awesome website! Collected autographs as a kid, and wanted to get some autographs of some NHL players and wound up on this site. Great site!
I just had a noobish question, hopefully I don't get flamed, as I'm not on message boards very often and don't really know how to navigate. Anyways, my question is; is it customary to send money/cheque to players when requesting an autograph? I just know that to go and get it personally signed at an autograph session can set you back up to $80-100 sometimes, so don't want to start asking players just to get denied and start it all over again. Also, if they charge like $50 through the mail, I'd probably just hit the local autograph circuit anyways. Or maybe both.
Anyways, any guidance would be phenomenal. And keep up the good work!

Start by checking their feedback, most people don't ask for money. Cheques are too inconvenient. I pay for a website called startiger (a popular autograph database) , and have some time on my hands, send me a list of people you want me to check and i'll look up and see how good they are with responding.
