Photo Size Preference?

I'm a newbie to this so sorry for my igorance. I'm hoping to primarily collect hockey autographs and pucks, but willing to get anything related to Chicago sports.
Anyways, I've read that people send out index cards as well, even customizing them, whcih sounds like a good idea. When it comes to sending photos, what are your preferences and why? I was thinking that for the autographs that I really want to have and show (framed), I am going to send 8x10's. Everything else 5x7s. Save money on postage too
What are your preferences? Do any of you do 4x6's?
Thanks in advance.

I always send out 8x10s as I think they look the best, but that is just a personal preferance.

It really depends. Sometimes I might send out an 8x10, but I usually stick to 5x7s and 4x6s when it comes to sending photos TTM. One thing to keep in mind is that you might not get it back. Only send out what you can afford to lose (that includes the cost of mailing as much as the value of the item).
The bulk of what I send out for sports TTM is trading cards -- I only send out a photo if I don't have a card to send, and ordering one online would be more expensive than getting a photo printed out. I generally prefer to save the premium items for IP graphing, though, because there is less risk of losing the item or not getting it signed.

I send out all sizes. It really depend on who I'm sending to, how much $$ I have at the time to afford photos...different factors.

For me, generally 8x6" (sometimes 8x12" [A4])
I find that it is not too big, but not too small. And it fits perfectly within the UK and US Mailing guidelines for a standard letter

Either 8x10 and 5x7, depending on whether I can find a big enough picture and if I know I would be getting it back or not.

I have sent a few 8x10's, but before I found a good source of 6x4's, which drastically improves my postage costs!

I like 8X10s in my collection, but sending that size to EVERYONE I write will make my costs go through the roof, so most the time I send 5X7s or 4X6s since they mail for the same cost.
If I know the person is good with fanmail or I feel like taking a chance I will print my own 8X10 and send it to them, otherwise I might just send a large SASE and hope they will provide their own photo.
But when I mail the photo: I generally print smaller ones 5X7 or 4X6s.

Just to let you all know in the USA... 8x6 photos are perfectly made for the standard LETTER size guide.. Cheaper postage, and still a very nice sized photo.

I mainly deal in 4x6. The odd occasion I've sent out 7x5's. I do this for ease of storage mainly.
