What is the best type of pen for IP signings?

I was just wondering if anyone here knew what the best type of pen would be for signing an 8x10 glossy photo?
I hope to be meeting one of my favourite comedians this Saturday and I really want to try and get their autograph so if anyone could tell me what type of pen I should take with me I would greatly apreciate it.

I'd agree, they're expensive as pens go, but worth every penny.

i will go against the grain and say the Staedtler Lumocolor permanent. i've used them on chrome like trading cards and super glossy ones and it didn't even bubble the signature. this is with no baby powder or eraser trick :-)
also, its the kind of markers that topps and upper deck provide to their signers.
that being said, i think they are more expensive than sharpies but i have never had a problem using them they are GREAT

A drawback with the Lumocolor is that they can be hard to find individually. The other drawback is that when you do find them, you can only find the fine tip markers (too thin for my taste) and they come in a package of four. The Sharpie will be fine on a photo, there shouldn't be an issue with the signature bubbling up. It's only with glossy trading cards that you will have that issue.
If you go with the Lumocolor, use a medium tip (very hard to find). If you use a Sharpie, use the fine tip. I would use the blue color but carry a black one also, just in case they refuse to sign in blue.

Thanks packrat, I think I will go with a sharpie. I think a black sharpie would look best on the photo I have printed so I will probably go with black rather than blue. Also why might they refuse to sign in blue?
