The reason I said they might refuse a blue sharpie is because I've seen posts where the celeb has reportedly said, "No blue." What that means is that some celebs assume that if you carry a blue sharpie, then you are a potential dealer. I've never had a problem (yet) but I always carry a black sharpie just in case.

I only mentioned blue because it is my personal prefference. Although it really doesn't matter, most facsimile signatures are in black, so I like getting an item signed in blue. Besides, I've heard it said that blue generally lasts longer than black. I have no idea if that is true or not. I've also heard and read that with a black Sharpie there is the odd chance that the yellow dye could leak out a little over time and leave the signature with a bit of an odd-looking halo. Don't know if that's true or not either. But there you go, now you know everything I know. I think.

I have heard blue is easier to make copies I mean make copies off of copies but I am not sure how accurate that is.

Packrat is quite right.

Autographs signed in blue are more "stable". Black sigs fade away with time into something brownish or bronze. Dealers know that. Celebrities learned why. So some might assume you are a pro autograph hunter.

I always carry more pens with me. In case they refuse the colour or want to keep the pen.
