Tips on getting an IP autograph.

Tomorrow I am going to see one of my favourite comedians, Ross Noble, and I am hoping to get his autograph IP while I'm there. I was wondering if anyone here could give me any tips on how to get the best results when trying to get an IP autograph.
The venue he is at is quite a small venue and I can't decide whether I should just hang around the stage door after the show and hope to see him or whether I should put a note on the stage during the show's interval asking him if he could possibly sign my photo afterwards. I could even leave a note along with the photo and marker and hope that works.
What would you guys, who probably all have more experience than me, think what be the best thing to do?
Thanks

.

This is probably too late, but if I'm trying to get an autograph at a show in a small venue and there's no obvious way of approaching them myself, I will generally try to get someone who works at the theatre (or is with the band, or tidying up leads and things at the end) to get the request/photo/whatever to them, either in the interval or afterwards. I put an SAE in with it and a little note. Be charming, it usually works. Comedians at UK venues can often be approached in the bar afterwards in my experience. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply HappinessStan

.
Luckily for me I did manage to get my photo signed

. I waited around the stage door for about 30 minutes after the show with two other people waiting to get their tickets signed and Ross came out and signed for us then we had a little chat for about 5-7 minutes before I went home it was awesome

. I'll will post photos in the IP success section soon if anyone wants to see.
